Prop size
I just went out and tested my Turnigy 230Kv Outrunner using a 10S, 4000 milliamp battery and a 19-10 prop. I was only pulling 45 amps and about 1500 watts, is this underpropped? I haven't charged the batteries yet and they were just in the as shipped charge. This is my first large electric.

Definitely charge the batteries, and as you cycle (use and recharge) they will start to give you more power. They probably came at 3.7-3.8V, and at a full charge will read around 4.2V.
What (brand, style) prop are you using?
Let us know what happens after a full charge.

RE: Prop size
thanks, I'll cycle them. I'm heading out of town for a week later today, so won't get it retested before I leave. I was reading 37 volts and they didn't drop down any taking full throttle load. It's a turnigy wood E prop, so it's pretty thin. I did go back and look and a lot of people are using 20 and 21" props with this motor on 10S

RE: Prop size
Jeff, the specs on your motor are very close to mine. Using the Himax 6330-210 F3Aas a reference, most are running a 21X14 on the himax due to a lower KV rating. For our motors at the slightly higher KV we should lighten the load a bit. I will be starting with a 21X12.
