Nickolay- I would recommend adding a plywood tab to your canopy base along with the associated slot / hole in the fuselage to accept a 3mm nylon bolt. (Tab on canopy will need 3mm blind nut as well.) If your latch is working, you only will need one nylon bolt. Since my plane has no latch, it needs two bolts, one on each side of canopy.

You can call it whatever you want. The point is, it increases rudder authority and tracking.

Doc,

What part are you looking for. The Extreme Flight site list replacement motor shafts for the Silver Bullet.

Buddies, thank You all for the help and advices!
I enlarged the opening in the canopy for the latch in a direction, opposite to the one shown in my previous photos. Now the latch goes thoroughly through the canopy. Would You recommend me to install a bolt and nut as shown by Jeff Worsham? I would like to put a pin instead, but essentially the idea is the same. I'm wondering whether such a measure is needed or the pin will manage to hold the canopy securely on its own.
I'm also attaching a picture showing the canopy latch position before and after filing the opening.

Thank You in advance,
Nickolay

I am looking for advise on a BEC, please.
I bought a DualSky regulator, model VR-8LG, but when I come to fit it I find that it is huge and heavy. I mistakenly expected it to take two input LiPos, but find that it has two outputs
I am sure it will work fine, but I am wondering if a Castle Creations 10 amp would work just as well?
Thank you in advance

If you want regulators, check out the Tech Aero regs (http://www.tech-aero.net/ or F3Aunlimited.com). They are very light and very reliable. I use two 450mah battery packs for my receiver and two regulators. If you wanted just one you could do an 800mah battery.

I know you said you're looking for a BEC but you also said you purchased a regulator you weren't happy with. I have been using dual tech aero regs in my contest plane for a few years, and use a single reg in my sport plane. They are great, and light.

The pattern regulator from Smartfly is also a very good product.

Hey guys,

Posting for a friend of mine who is unable to get in to post atm. Anyways looking for some pointers on what to check for regarding an issue with his Vanquish.
His setup is wings at .5 and stabs at 0, for cg plane takes a slight push to hold level inverted flight, think he said front of the wing tube. Everything seems good
throws equal on elevators etc, and i believe at 12 deg full throw. Anyways what is happening is that if you pull on elevator a bit to hard it will drop a wing, and
i think it is always the right wing. Left wing is 407g and Right is 404g(he just checked it)

Thanks

My first thought is to check the elevator throws to ensure they are both the same. Also for warp in the elevator surfaces. I would also check for lateral balance and ensure the plane is in fact balanced laterally. How much throw is in the elevator when this happens, as i have not had this occur in my setup, but my throws are very low in %. For the wing weight, it is not just the weight but where in the wing that weight is, different balsa, different placement of weight concentration, thus lateral balance issues. Also how fast is the plane going when this happens? All above can impact flight characteristics. Just my thoughts, i'm sure others will add more.

Finally, the Vanquish in question is mine I had trouble getting in to post, elevators are at 0 deg, throw,s and tracking have been rechecked and are the same. Plane does not drop a wing while looping, pulls to vertical or from vertical do not seem to drop a wing, with 13 deg travel on elevator it will snap out to the right. This is very unnerving at bottom of the z, I have reduced throws to 11 deg to prevent the snapping but haven't flown it yet. Wings are at .5 deg positive, all set with digital level. Open for ideas.? I,have never had a pattern type plane theft would snap out. Might just be the way it is. Thanks

Hi,

My plane had a tendency for the right wing to drop when pulling quick up for example. I corrected it by adjusting in flying and adjusting weight of left winghalf, and also adjust the neutral on right and left elevators. It took a while - maybe 10 flights and adjustments, before I was satisfied. I used a Hangar 9 Angle Pro digital inclinometer first to get close to equal throws up/down and same 0 value for neutral on both elevators and then fine adjusted after flights in my transmitter on each individual elevator neutral. The problem is not 100% gone but rather good now.
That is on my MythoS 125E.

/Bo

I changed the 3mm blind nut for two 440s and have over 500 flights that way.
If you need a screw at the flying field probably everyone has a 440, but a 3mm might be harder to find.

Hello all: I don't know the best to post this so I hope i am not stepping n any toes! I had a crash a couple of weeks ago due to not properly changing the model on the tx. I would like to buy a newer model Vanquish fuse. I can't get one at this time from EF. Also if anyone has one...can you take some pics of the front of the plane around the motor mount area? And finally, can anyone get me a tracing of the top of the fuse. The part that the canopy sits on? Thanks Davis

Had my for a while, but just started putting it together.

Question. Is the stock Motor supposed to come with a prop adapter?

Updating...I bought a fuse from a friend and I am up and flying. I don't know if I am going to rebuild V1 as I crashed it twice in 6 weeks! But if I do I have the templates. The whole front end is a total write off. I would literally have to scratch build all the parts. I don't think its worth the effort...AND I just bought a Monolog for the back up plane.

Don't know what you mean by prop adapter? These larger motors should have a propeller SHAFT that screws into the hub. They are not set up like the smaller ones with the clamp that tightens on the shaft as you turn the prop nut.

This is not always true. I have a couple of 3000W motors with collet-type prop adapters (Neu 15xx, Pletty Advance) as well as my 2000W Scorpion and Hacker. I have yet to have an issue with a quality collet-type prop adapter and it's what I've used exclusively for 3+ years of flying electric.

Well I am trying to figure out how I get a prop mounted on the stock motor. All I see is a shaft and no Hub or adapter.

I am interested in knowing which motor would be better suited to the plane. AXI 5330 F3a Gold or the HiMax 6332-230. I can go either direction and would like to know how well one installs over the other and which would have the power advantage. New to the electric thing and wanted to get some advice from those who may know.......peace!

The easiest and most expensive is the Hacker Q60......that's my choice for next year with a Mezon 95 Opto!

Hi John:
I like the new HiMax. I didn't feel any difference between the HiMax and the Hacker Q60.
Happy Landings.

The Himax HC6330-210 is an easy install, the new HC6330Pro might be a better choice because of the weight, but I'm not sure if it's already available for sale.

The Axi 5330 didn't seem to last long with anything bigger than a 20x13 prop.

Sorry, I can't help. I use the Hacker A60. They build the plane for their "silver bullet" to bolt up. I had no problems making minor modes to fit the Hacker. My plane has unlimited up line with the Hacker and 10s. Most of the motors made for the F3A will give you what you need!
