Hacker for Pattern Hack
Hi Guys,
Looking for a C5014XL Comp for a new aquisition. Good used is great if you can find it and I would like to take that route. New is the other option but WOW! Spendy! No real hurry but if you know where I can find used I 'll be eternally greatful.
Who has the best price new? Aero models had a Christmas sale last year and I will wait to see if they offer the deal again if I can't find used.
Thanks,
Rick

RE: Hacker for Pattern Hack
If you're completely hooked on Hacker then I apologize in advance for straying off topic, but Neu often gets some F3A worthy motors in the closeout section of the website. Also things come and go before they get a chance to change out the inventory online, so good to call (that's how I got my new Neu, called and they just happened to have the perfect motor for my plane at ~30-35% off):
Right now there are 1515/2Y motors for sale, with/without fins, with/without gear boxes - $150 w/o gears, $250 with. Can buy a motor without a gear box and have them install the F3A gear box to save some weight.
1515/2Y is 1100kV, 1515/3.5D is 1200kV, Hacker is 1160kV.

Just a thought...

RE: Hacker for Pattern Hack
Thanks Joe. I really need to stick with the C50 for my new V.K Integral. The plane is set up for it and it is totally ready for a drop in fit.

RE: Hacker for Pattern Hack
There were some well-used Hackers at the D4 finale this past weekend, definitely a testament.
I know the front mount of the Hacker is the same for any 15xx series Neu w/HD or F3A gear box. Don't know about motor diameter though, so not sure about rear mounts. Think they are very close.
Other major RC forum out there has a lot of motors in their classified section. Of course it's nice if "one of us" has or comes across an extra for RC11 though.
Keep us posted on your progress, and I'll look forward to flying with you next season and seeing your kick-***** setup, whatever it is...

RE: Hacker for Pattern Hack
My experience with Neu f3a has been quite positive. Other than greasing it every 50-60 flights, there is no other maintenance work needed. Since I have not found any problems, I have not sent it in since bought new from Chris.
I have struggled with the motor choice between the Neu and hacker motor at beginning. Most of the feedback I received from RCU pattern community recommended the Neu. I knew one f3a pilot made the switch from hacker to Neu for extra power.

RE: Hacker for Pattern Hack
Are there any other bolt in options besides the Neu? The Q80 has a nose ring mount option. Is the bolt pattern the same as the C50?
Thanks,
RC
