5 flights this afternoon, I like!
Snaps and spins are effortless. Roll rate and elevator travel were a little sporty for my taste so I spent time dialing those in where I like them and moving the CG back where I like.. It's getting pretty close. Verticals and downlines are straight. Have no mixing in at this time but I didn't play with KE much so I'll see what mixes are needed next time.

Finally, first flights today. Looks like it'll just need some rudder/aileron mix in left rudder knife edge flight and probably a change to a higher pitch prop(21X14). Everything else is pretty close.

Hey Guys
finally back in the air with my new BiSide. Between work and vacation it took me a while. But my new one is picking up where I left off with my previous BiSide.
I started my test flights with the 2 blade Falcon 21x13.5 because I didn't want to risk my Mejzlik 3 blade. First flights were very uneventful and it took virtually no trim inputs.
But, after a few more trim flights I decided to put on the Mejzlik 29x13EL 3 blade. I am even more convinced than before that this is a great combination.
I can't wait to get back out and finish fine tuning this one.

You must have long legs on that B Side to accommodate a 29" prop! ;-)

By the way,
Peter Wessels updated me on his son, Henning, and the BiSide. Peter says the plane is flying really, really well. Henning won a recent German F3A event with the BiSide: http://www.jetimodel.com/en/Congratulation-to-Henning-Wessels/

Finally got mine in the air. I've asked Dave Snow to fly it.
We started off with 2 9411 servos and as expected it needs more torque. We will switch to 2 8411 or even 8711's to see what results.
So far it really looks great in the air. It has a great presentation.

Hi guys,
Here's an update on my BiSide. I have my new one going, after the unfortunate incident earlier this year at the Riverside Contest....
Some of you may have noticed the new BiSide 70 Manual posted on BJ Craft's website. It is showing some stab fences and a top wing incidence change. I have been testing this same type of modification on my new BiSide. B.J. wanted me to try the stab fences and also a negative incidence setting on the top wing. I was a bit skeptical at first because I thought that my original BiSide flew great as it was. I decided to implement the changes that he recommended and built the new one with these changes. B.J. provided me a new set of shorter wing struts, some incidence spacers and a set of stab fences.
On my original BiSide, the wing struts were longer and they mated right up with the wing as it was mounted to the top pylon. Now, the wings are compressed together to mate with the struts. B.J. indicated that this was better and helped make sure there was no wing twist. I think all of the BiSides delivered after my original one had shorter struts.
He also provided a new center pylon mounting adapter, similar to the original one but set for increased negative incidence. And he provided me a set of adapters for the struts for the increased negative incidence.
The stab fences were also provided with a set of mounting jigs so that the fences would be aligned properly.
I have been flying the plane, since maiden, with these changes and I think it flies very well. I can't say that I notice a huge change from my original BiSide. But, I think it has some better rolling characteristics and a little better tracking in the crosswinds and turbulence. Knife edge looping performance is also improved. All of these things were good on the original but these the updates seem to make it a little more effortless on the F15 type maneuvers.
I'm including a few pics. I am not sure if B.J. will make these a standard offering, but I am passing along my experience with the updates.

If anyone really wants a BiSide give me a call. I'll discuss cutting a really good deal for you. This plane has proven itself time and time again as a solid easy to fly extremely capable plane. I great choice for any skill level.

Hi Guys,
Peter Wessels sent me the last update for this season from Germany:
we had the last contest F3A lat weekend at horrible conditions with tons of rain, fog, wind etc.
We could only do 2 flights; both counts. Hennings P15 was really not good ....; but round 2 with unknown was ok.; so in total place 3 at this contest.
So Henning placed this year ( 1,1,2 and 3); as only pilot all contest on the podium and so in totsal German Chmapion F3A DMFV top expert FAI class.
Biside is really very well flying and Hennings loved at.
Looks like Henning did very well with the BiSide this season. Peter did ask me if I had any solution for the wind whistling sound which is characteristic of the BiSide. I played around with things and came to the conclusion that the flying stab was the source for most of the whistling sound. So I lined the root of the stab with sticky back felt fabric. It really worked well. You can get the stuff at WalMart. It is similar to this:
