Help Setting Fixed End Points with Jeti
Can anyone the steps to set up fixed end points with a Jeti Mezon and Jeti Box? I can't get low throttle set right. My motor only starts at half throttle. Also how should I set up full throttle. I'd like to maiden my new Episode this weekend so I would appreciate any help I can get.

I found the information I needed on another RCU thread. The key thing the Jet instructions don't tell you or at least I didn't see is that you first plug the Jeti box into the throttle port of your receiver and read the high low impulse values. You then use these values to set the controller initiation and high/low fixed endpoints.......easy enough. My controller is set up right now the way I like it. I initiate at full low stick and the prop starts turning when I advance the throttle 1 click.

ESC Settings:
Set ESC to fixed initial point of 1.000 msec and end point to 2.0 msec
Transmitter Settings:
Turn off the Throttle cut and Idle down.
Set the throttle ATV and AFR to yield something close to 2.000 msec on the high end and 1.000 msec on the low. My high end Is 2.008 using the Jeti box to measure pulse width. (It doesn't appear to require external power when measuring pulse width)
With the Throttle Cut and the Idle Down turned off, set the low end to slightly over 1.000 and then fine tune it by setting the desired idle with the throttle trim. My throttle trim is set to yield 1.034msec
Set the Throttle Cut to 2%. When it is turned on my pulse width is 0.884 msec.
With the Throttle Cut off set the Idle Down off set to yield slightly less than 1.000 msec to activate the brake. Mine is set to 61% to yield 0.985 msec.
Operation:
TurnThrottle Cut and Idle Down off.
Turn transmitter on.
Turn receiver on.
Check controls and pull throttle back.
Turn Throttle cut on. ESC will arm.
Turn throttle cut off and jog throttle stick to start motor.
Touchup idle. Should only need to do this once. It will be very repeatable.
Turn Idle Down on. It will apply the brake and stop the motor when the stick is pulled all the way back. It will not completely stop the motor in the air.
Turn idle down off, start motor and go fly. Turn the idle down on to activate the brake with low throttle when flying. I leave mine on except for the spins as I don’t want the motor to stop in the air.
Some transmitters may not allow pulse widths of less than 1.0 msec so I would now suggest setting the low end to 1.1 msec. The concept is still the same.

Hi,
I have my Futaba 14MZ set to:
Full throttle has travel 120% in ATV that gives 2.030 ms measured with Jeti Box connected to throttle channel.
Full low throttle travel 100% in ATV that gives 1.103 ms measured with Jeti Box connected to throttle channel.
I have in my Jeti MasterMezon 130 set to fixed points with Jeti Box:
End point 2.03 ms.
Initial point 1.10 ms.

Just 2 days ago I was helping a local friend set up a Spin99/14MZ and Jim's info saved the day for me.
After I finally found an online manual for the ESC and with the use of Jim's info I was able to zip right through the whole setup like I knew what I was doing!
Once again....Jim rescued me.
Thanks man....

Hey Jim why do the Jeti Spin 's have that little lag in motor restart comming out of brake ? I fly ATX SD 10 G and it is 3 clicks up for me. I don't notice it in the air but sometimes trying to use it landing I have to remember about the extra clicks .
Other than that I have always followed your lead in the setup and love these ESC's
Thanks Kirk

When in idle up...the prop spins slowly on the ground indicating that the brake is off.
With the brake off there is no dead spot or lag right off closed throttle....I turn off the brake (idle up) for landing and during the flight I select if I want the brake on or not with the switch.
As far as why there is a dead spot with the brake on....I don't know....but I thought I would jump in here and mention how I have it set up.
The OS 1100HV ESC does not have the lag with the brake on.....I have been flying the OS ESC for the past year and it is great....super easy to setup.

I have the same switch as you . I looked at the OS but never could get a good answer about the 28 pole motor's with it . I have a Hacker A-60 7S V2 and the Spin 99 that work great .
I just wondered what the lag time was about . My guess is a software issue or something to do with how it starts the motor from dead stop. All things considered I will keep it.

I wouldn't call it a lag. It is more of a deadband issue. For example, I have my initial point set at 1.1 msec. My throttle cut is set to 1.045, that is 55 μsec below the initial point. I use this switch to arm the ESC. With the brake switch off, I turn the Throttle Cut off and the motor starts and idles at about 600 rpm with a pulse width of 1.162 μsecs. Once in the air I can turn the brake on and the brake engages when the throttle stick is in full low. At this point the pulse width is 1.058, 42 μsecs below the initial set point. Now it would seem one could set his throttle curve so that one click of the stick would get you back to 1.162 μsec and the motor would start and idle at 600. In actual practice the motor probably would not stop on landing approach even with the brake on so the transition would be seamless. I believe the bottom line is you want the brake setting and idle setting as close together as possible. By the way, I'm using the Jeti Mezon. The Jeti Spins don't seem to want to start at idle so you must jog the stick to get them to start. This means you will always have this deadband between brake and idle. Dave is right the OS doesn't have this problem and as I recall the YGE didn't either. And Kirk you are right, the OS does not work on the Hacker 28 pole motors.

Thanks Jim , I have done some creative THR curve stuff with a flight mode for landing that makes it pretty good. It will start at the fourth click at a slightly fast idle then I can come down one click to the some RPM as my idle . I also used the curve to take out a some above click 4 so it wont run out from out from under you if you need more in a head wind or something, all in about the bottom 1/4 or stick travel .
Turned out pretty smooth.
Is there a way to record or download the data the Mezon transmits without a Jeti Transmitter ?

You can read the the data LOG from last run of MasterMezon ESC if you connect a Jeti Box to the ESC. I have MasterMezon and Jeti Box and it works great to make settings changes with the Jeti Box and also read the Mezon flight data LOG with it. It is also great to read the throttle low and high end points with the Jeti Box.

As far as I know You need a Jeti DS-16 radio with telemetry to record/store data or a Jeti Box Profi

to be able to display some of the telemtry data it in Jeti Flight Monitor software
