Hey Jason
All the versions have zero thrust right and down, its the same model minus the Chin . This is a "spiral slip stream" busting Machine
but it is refined to accept the Contra as a standard Electric version /contra version.
The glow version is built a little more robust for the vibration on the glow motors and durability required. it will also be available with a Yellow base paint scheme.

The Electric version target is 2300 g and the glow version target is 2500 G
+- 2%. The set up is not much different from the shinden little to no thrust either way.

Would a 1.70 fly this airplane okay? I've got two or three still. I love the look of the glow version.
Great job on the design. Since this is a "real" airplane now, it's officially my favorite design of yours. The Quest has been dethroned.

Yes the 1.70 will fly it fine with a 19-11 or 19.5-11.5 no problem. The plane should build 10 -10.25 pounds no problem with a 1.60 even.
Yes, I still love the Quest Too. But I must Admit it`s my favorite too! .But this is a generation apart built on the Quest platform architecture so,think of it as the Big Sister
When I was designing the plane I loved the look of the E model verses the Glow on Paper But, Now I think I like the Glow of course it looks even better in the nose when the geometry of the contra spinner is added on. The production E model will have the paint tweaks like the larger green canopy so the E model will get the spa treatment soon as well!
Brett will be flying the glow version at the Nats so we will see it in competition soon. The size of the model Suits Bretts slow close style superbly.

For an all-composite airplane this size, that's quite an accomplishment.
I look forward to seeing them for sale. I may have to start selling body parts to cover the cost of the airplane, but who needs two kidneys, right?
I wish I could be at the Nats this year. It just isn't in the cards for me, unfortunately. I hope to see one of these in person soon.

The Allure will be Painted on the outside no seams, with a high quality Paint job.
The Quality of the Factory paint work is outstanding! and top Notch ..
The Factory can also do custom work for a fee, and a small time delay from the regular production process.
I will have a form to download on my site where you can fill in the model outline for the custom paint work.

Yes, this is an all composite airplane there is no option for film covered wings nor is there a need for it with the weight at under 2300g including gear and spats. It is painted in and out of the molds with the fuse seams completely hidden and painted. Very High quality and High gloss.

Was referring to the statement about the soon to be released Inspire.
Not sure the Sebart models have been designed "specifically" around the contra either. It's probably not wise (from a marketing perspective) to limit yourself to the contra anyway given that there are so many options regarding power plants available. This would be why the Allure will be available in glow, electric and contra. It will be very interesting to see what the split of sales are on release.

The Allure may have started before the Inspire but there is most likely a big difference in designing a plane then working with a manufacturer to produce that plane. Than working with your own factory to produce a plane, plus Bryan was still working with Brett dialing in the Alferma. One guy can only do so much at a time.

At a glance that Inspire looks to have the Prolog/Nuance/Episode fuz,, .
Probably squared off at the front for the contra.
Certainly seems to have the same fin - if it has well that would not exactly be a from the ground up 'contra design' !! That fuz,, is unstable in yaw with just a single prop !

The instability issues on almost all planes have more to do with set up than design. BJ Craft has a good product as you can see by how many are being used in competition today. The Allure uses my setup methods and takes the guess work out for the modeler. Although if set up incorrectly , even this plane can give you problems. My goal was to provide a good basic launching pad for success for all classes, experience level , and power systems. This gives more options to the modeler. BJ has done the same with his models, not an easy task.
There are no bad designs out any more really Just busy modelers, we all look for short cuts but in competition, there are none. Just pic the plane you like and go have fun.

Yes, there are a lot of these models in use and they are at a good price point.
However they ,the monos that is, are nearly all using 'add on's' ; stab fences, dual stab fences, fin extensions, rudder flairs, wing fences and multiple wing fences.
Perhaps ,if he is re-using the same fuz,, ,he will move the wing forward on the Inspire. If !!
