Guy here is an update.
We are finalizing the deal to be the sole importer of the plane. I expect the planes will be here in early March.
I'll have more details soon. It takes a while to put together a new deal like this. I have my V2 Sample in hand. Everything you've seen and heard about how nice it is is correct.
The selling price is to be set at $999 plus shipping.
If anyone thinks that's a far cry from the $699 originally posted I'd like to explain. You would have had to pay $400 to have it shipped direct from China via FedEx or DHL. We take the risk on all of the sea shipments and have to have a markup to survive. So this retail price is consistent with what was stated from the get go.
I will probably start taking preorders in a week or two.
It's going to be a great plane and it's at a spectacular price.
Thanks, Mike Mueller

Thanks all, I'm on behalf of TopRC model cautious make statement here, F3AUnlimited will be as our sole importer of North America to import our Pattern F3A models from now on, if you are from North America and interest in our products, please contact with F3AUnlimited and you will get worth what you paid for. Please be noted, the price $699.00USD we offered for the Caelus was our promotion prices after discount and they were our V1 products, we will no more offer them in the future. Thanks.

Hope all is well Mike! Any chance you are going to be at the upcoming swap meets in the area?

I don't know...I think a detailed flight test report discussing how well the plane flies with skis attached would be helpful for those of us who are forced to fly outdoors in the winter

No,no, Mike. Send it to Texas where we also have year round flying weather. I would be glad to test it in the Intermediate class for you.

Guys I'll know very soon when they will be here. I'm just waiting on the factory to get back from the Chinese New Year. When this happens things will ramp up.
I'll have a lot on it soon including a building thread and test flying results.
Thanks for your patience. Mike

Hey everyone it's been a while. I have started flying the new plane. The weather here is giving us a little break but still colder than I prefer to fly.
I'm very happy with the performance from this plane.
In the air it is very stable, Snap rolls are effortless and stop when you release the controls. Spins are truly remarkable.
I had to give it some more positive in the wing incidence and push the pack bit a tad to get the feel I like. I have 4 full flights on it and I feel good enough with it to just fly the pattern.
There's nothing major needed to keep me happy and I feel very competitive with the plane so far.
I actually can't wait to get out to the field as this is a fun plane to fly.
On the ground it's very impressive. Close up and personal it's very impressive.
TopRCModel is a bonafide big deal manufacturer with huge plans for the future. This is just the beginning of what they will be bringing to market. Their technology is probably better than anyone we have ever dealt with in the past.
They have vast resources to fall back on.
As the sole North American distributor of their products I feel highly honored to have their planes and make them available to the buyers.
This plane from a quality build to a highly competent flyer at $999 represents a "Game Changing Opportunity" for us.
I will be posting a video as soon as we get a good day and I can meet up with someone capable of shooting a decent one.
Sales are open for this plane if you call me at 800 591 2875
We can discuss the progress on the container shipment coming in soon.
The shipment has been delayed in the Chinese port but is now on the water with a firm date in 3 weeks.

Thanks for your patience.
This is a real deal and I'm telling you no strings attached. Just a great looking and well built plane and a spectacular value.
I have a limited amount available.
Thanks Mike Mueller

FWIW the lady in the pictures is a someone who drove up with her daughter and wanted to take pictures next to a plane. So her daughter was taking pictures like for some odd reason. I decided to take a couple of photo's too. I then took off and so did they. Odd I know.

Default Reducing Weight

Just wondering if you have any suggestions on where we can bring down the weight? I am already buying supplies for the airplane I ordered and this is going to change a couple of ideas I have if V2 is heavier. The Topmodelrc site lists the basic weight as 2400g. (see above) Is that for V1 or V2?? Thanks. Looking forward to the delivery truck!

Hi,
What motor do You plan to use? Compare for example Plettenberg Advance 30-10 (590 gram) and Hacker Q80-14XS (528 gram), there You can save 62 gram. Flight LiPo battery can be lighter then the 1183 gram that was listed in post #43. A light ESC will help. If You must not have the wheelpants mounted You can save another 43 gram (according to post #43).

Kdunlap,

I just wanted to respond to your concerns on weight and make it clear that the weights I posted were for version 1 airplane. If Top RC and Mike read my emails and made the necessary changes to take weight out of the airplane then you should have no worries with the Version 2 airplanes that Mike has coming. The version 1 airplanes were just way overbuilt. This airplane will be an incredible bargain if they have gotten the weight issue resolved in Version 2.
