BJ Craft G2 Essence
Hi Guys,
BJ sent me pics and some information regarding the new G2 line of aircraft. He has two basic variations, the Essence and the Invitation.

The Essence is pictured below. Here are the primary details:
- Electric power only
- Large fuselage side area
- DTFS main wing
- Full Moving Stabilzer
- Canalizer type design
The Invitation is designed for both Electric and IC
- Electric or IC power supported
- Mounts included
- Traditional tapered wing and stab planform
- Fuel resistant paint used on the fuselage
- Optional clear coating of film covered surfaces is available
Some additional information on the models:
- The wings and stabs are interchangeable, by order, between the two
- 2 wing types, standard and DTFS
- 4 stab types: Essence shape Full Moving and Standard, Invitation shape Full Moving and Standard
- ARF kits are colored as shown on the above pics
- 4 color schemes are going to be available (Essence style, Invitation style, G2 Prototype Style (similar to Inspire), and an Akiba Passion style)
More details will be coming. I have some additional questions I will be sending to B.J. Park on the aircraft.
I know that he has been developing this design for a quite some time now. In usual manner, he has spent a great deal of time flight testing and refining the designs. I am really anxious to see these in person.
He has some additional options in development for these aircraft so it will be interesting to see how he progresses on those.
He is targeting a March roll out of the G2 aircraft, which will be right after Chinese New Year.

the "G2 Prototype" link on B.J.'s website actually shows both configurations of the design which are now the Essence and Invitation. The Essence configuration is DTFS wing and matching flying stab and the Invitation is the traditional wing configuration and is also shown with the flying stab configuration.
He painted them like the Inspire, maybe to help be a bit stealthy during development.
The pics I posted are of the final ARF production configuration. There are some slight differences with the prototpype versions.

Will do.. BJCRAFT New Zealand have been in close contact with BJ with the Essence.. I saw photos early December and instantly liked it. We were able to have access to the first couple.��

it uses the same type of flying stab setup as the BiSide. That is also an anhedral stab. It isn't anything complicated as you can see from the pics. The stab halves are joined with two tubes, one near the center of the chord and the other one closer to the TE. It pivots around the center tube.

it just looked like a lot more anhedral than I've seen on the BiSide pics.

My Essence arrived today, And all I can say is WOW!!
The fuse is huge , much bigger than even my Epic and that's big.. I was very impressed with BJCRAFT's packaging , The box was double skinned which made the Essence very safe in the box..
The build quality is up another level from the Biside , So I'm very happy and excited ..
For this build I'm putting in an OS belt drive in.. Jeti Spin 99 speed controller and JR gear..
I'll weigh everything next and post weights later..

I have a 50Products type G belt drive that I'm installing into a BJCraft Fantasista 70... it was not easy getting it shipped out from Japan to a USA customer.

I've weighed the main airframe here are the weights..
Fuse including canopy and chin cowl.. 1188 grams its huge!!
left wing .... 302 grams
Right wing.... 302 grams
Left stab... 72 grams
Right stab... 73 grams
Rudder..... 76 grams
Cantilizer. ... 78 grams
My Dad Ewan is helping put it together to speed things up as we need to test fly on Monday to get enough flying on it before we go to the Australian Masters on the 3rd March ����
We Have made a good start on the Essence and will post more photos and progress soon..
i still can't get over the size of the Thing!

RCJapan is a very easy place to order from. Have used them several times, once shipped, only a couple days to get here. They don't stock anything so takes a few days for them to get it.

hi i'm Jin-Young Lee. i used my Nuance over 1500 times.(behind yellow one)
i start to make Essence. i will use Plettenberg Advance 30-10
Essence's rudder is very tall. almost 500~510mm (Nuance is 370mm)
