Scorpion backup guard
I know there was a thread on here about redundant systems but I want to know what the people that use the scorpion backup think about them. I like how it's self contained and looks simple to use just wanting a little info.
Thanks

I run one in my pattern plane
I run a 100 amp esc and utilise the bec as primary power
Bug is on a separate switch in case
Changeover is seamless
Made the change after a second rx pack wiring harness went belly up in 2 weeks fortunately picked up at preflight

My Feedback: (1)
Hi,
I have been using Scorpion Backup Guard in 3 F3A planes without any problems for 3 years.
Maybe on the heavy side with 38 grams. You get a warning when capacity is low (LED will then blink red = 30% capacity left).
I charge my Backup Guard now and then and try to keep it fully charged during flying season (in winter I have it storage charged to about 60 %). I use the BEC on my Jeti Master Mezon ESC to power my servos and receiver, and Backup Guard is there in case the BEC would fail or flight battery fail.
If You want to balance charge it You need to buy (or make) a special charge harness.

I have not heard or read that any Backup Guard has failed but I could be wrong.
It seems simple solution and not that much should be able to go wrong with it.
Optipower Ultra Guard 430 Back-up System can be an alternative:

You can choose the Optipower 430 mAh 2 cell LiPo with it or select another 2 cell LiPo of Your choice (little lighter LiPo for example). Read the FAQ here:
