Default F3A biplane Mriya II

Dear pattern friends, I would like to share with you some pictures and details about my new F3A biplane called Mriya (Dream from Ukranian language). It is full composite, really hi end model designed having in mind modern FAI sequences. Knife edge flight and rolls are sure strong side of this plane. It is really interesting to experiment with some P-19 and F-19 maneuvers. So far I already did 72 flights with this model and now preparing for national championship and few upcomming world cup rounds. I plan to make some videos in next couple weeks once weather will allow me this

More information about plane can be found on my website:

That's a nice looking plane. The green colour scheme looks great.

First enquiry on the 4th July 2017, I liked what Donatas had to say. Thorough investigation reveals this plane is designed and constructed to the highest standards available to F3A category aircraft.
Commited to custom paint and order on the 9th July 2017.
Engine and servo specs detailed to Donatas to ensure minimum time from box to airborne.
Shipped today, anticipated first flight in 10 days. Customer service 10/10.

Engine - Kontronik Pyro with Brenner Contradrive
Jeti TX, RX, Mezon ESC, Futaba BLS173 in tailplane (x2) & wings (x4), cable pull MKS HV1220 on rudder.
Custom paint, 3 colours of my choice from http://www.ralcolor.com instead of advertised green/red, silver, black.

I didn't know custom paint was an option. I assume it is still a matte finish?
I thought the plane used a single elevator servo and a bellcrank in the tail. Are you mounting 2 servos, one in each tail half instead?

Two servos in the tailplane is an option. Contact Donatas re paint & finishing possibilities. He has been a delight to deal with.

Same plane (design), different spelling (Mriya/Mria). I can't speak on behalf of Donatas' role in the production of the Mriya, however his website gives a thorough explanation of the origins, construction, testing and specifications of the Mriya.

TOPSecret thank you for kind words. And yes I can confirm your words, custom painting is possible as long as it stay in our main template. Aditional detail: We understand that this hi end F3A model will be used in competitions, so we also paint customer/pilot name license number and country flag on your model. Also partial or even full equipment instalation is possible by our experienced team for aditional fee. To back this up please find attached some pictues of great looking machine that will soon fly in Australia.

ITC, RC-Composit is anouther seling point that will help us reach more customers. Bottom line is there is only one place where plane is manufactured with strict quality control. Every single Mriya will be sent by me world wide except from USA. In USA well know and respected shop F3A Unlimited will be representing us. Regarding design, I was involved in prototype testing and improvement on the plane. I am very happy with the way it fly now. Now I continue to practicing for upcomming world cup round in Netherlands and Germany. After these competitions I will post some videos of Mriya in flight. So far enjoy the pictures:

I am the lucky one to test new AXI 8112 prototype. I am team AXI pilot for many years now.
Please let me know what you want to know, I will try to help.
I tested motor with various PT model carbon propellers two blade 21x12, 21x14, 22x10, 22x10 Wide, three blade 20.5x13. I must say I like 21x14 the most, it is good option for windy days.
None of these propellers draw more than 80 amps. I can say motor is very efficient and after F-17 sequence I still have about 20% of battery capacity left.

Small video I put today about small tricks that help to assemble Mriya faster than average biplane.
Pins with round heads are very nice idea that help to lock SFG'S with single pish. Also with help of small velcro circle they always stay attached to bottom wing.

The quality of the Mriya is excellent, finish is faultless, all pieces fit perfectly. Install gear and go flying. Flying weight is 4900g with a 1250g battery pack, you could get a flying weight at 4700g pretty easily, Brenner contradrive is a perfect power choice, engine and ESC temperatures are well within limits as cooling is sufficient, directional stability is great, wind flying is stable, mixing is; Rudder/Elevator 2%, Throttle/Elevator 1%, Rudder/Aileron 1%. (Still refining knife edge as it's been too windy). Stall turn; great. Spin entry (stall, inverted and upright), predictable and direction controllable, spin rotation is slow, exit is sharp provided rudder throw isn't too much, ie don't get the stall too deep. Axial rolls are very good, no differential. Snap (inverted), a work in progress, I just need to get the rudder/aileron ratio right, I'll fiddle with positive snap later. Most impressive aspect is the constant flight speed, up lines and down are a similar speed, yet still appears punchy enough in 20kts. There's spare weight to load it up with a 6000mah pack if you need the extra grunt and ballast in a big wind F17. Positive comments from club members on aesthetics and interestingly the matt finish was a real hit. Downside; if you're flying against one in a competition, you're probably at a disadvantage.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you are referring to.
I don't believe there is an inrunner vs outrunner setting in the Mezon ESC.

Over the last 5 months I’ve been trimming and test flying the Sensation and the Mriya. I consider both designs equivalent in their ability to perform both of the F3A 19 schedules. Both my planes have contradrives, the Sensation can be built around 200g lighter, the Mriya will be close to 4950g flying weight with a 1240g battery pack. A lot of the recent posts are about own designs or build threads. If your not interested in designing or building, the Mriya could be at your doorstep in about a month and in the air three days later. Pilots shouldn’t be intimidated about a biplane, they fly great. The matt paint finish is brilliant.

Did you choose a Brenner V3 or V4?
What size props are you running?
Red or Green? How is the visibility/orientation?

Brenner V4 contradrive. Donatas & Vadim custom made a 4 point aluminium standoff mount with rubber isolators, this is a better mount than the Budd system. If you know your ESC, they’ll pre-cut the rectangular hole under the front fuselage. I’m using Futaba 173s all around, their holes were pre-cut. If you want to run a single elevator servo the pushrods and bell crank are supplied. I’m using Falcon 23x20 on the front and 23x22 on the rear. Custom paint for me, 3 colours of my choice from Ralcolour instead of advertised green/red, silver, black. My scheme is the orange and purple shown above. Anecdotally I think the matt finish is the best seeing model I’ve flown, irrespective of the colours used the custom scheme has a lot of white and reflects well yet doesn’t glint in direct sunlight. So complete was my model on arrival that it took three days from unboxing to test flight. Donatas was very prompt and customising my fitout wasn’t an issue; or Mike from F3A Unlimited will join the dots.
