Pandora by Gernot Bruckmann
Hi,
New plane by Gernot Bruckmann - Pandora.
Look at that enormous tail. Whole fuselage seems to have very large side area.
Both top wing (canalizer) and low wing (belly wing).
Wing saw tooth leading edge.
Very long landing gear legs.
Contra drive (I do not know what brand he use).
Some more info on his Facebook.
Seems this is his WC model for the F3A World Championship in Argentina Nov 3-11.

Even if this new Pandora fly very well it is a slight negative thing about the belly wing if it is not easily removable.
Transportation with such plane without easy removal of belly wing is going to be a problem.
There is also room for hangar rash (both at home and at the field) with such belly wing mounted.
I suppose the designer has drawn the conclusion this Pandora flies best with both top and belly wing but personally I think it is not that neat (with top and belly wing) and as said little impractically to handle on the ground with belly wing. I suppose one can get used to a belly wing.
But I'm sure Pandora will be a blockbuster if Gernot Bruckmann place high at WC with this model, it will be very interesting to see how well Gernot will fly with his new plane.

Great video! Thanks! Do you know what the wind speed was during the flight? You could here a 'breeze' during the flight, but no indication from the airplane. Plenty of power, there. The flight speed is amazingly SLOOOOW!
Glad to see him finally nail the knife edge to knife edge snap in the triangle knife edge loop :-)

I was glad to see him miss one or two - human after all
I'm given to believe that the winds so far are strong and gusty !!

I can say the Pandora flies a lot like the best F3P planes do. When I saw it rolling, Janne Lappi's Rane came in to my mind immediately and this is no joke. It flies well and GB of course too. But it has a huge frontal area and it must show somehow in high winds... The video you saw earlier in this thread was made during moderate wind conditions.
The contra drive is made by Jeti and it works the same way as Brenner's but the gearbox part is inside the fuselage, right in front of the motor.

Gee whiz, nothing to worry about with the electric guys wanting 12S and 5.5kg. Can't see anything in the future that'll obsolete our current air frames, it'll just make F3A more affordable 'cos we can use cheaper and heavier we're told......................

UKPatternflyer,
The link to the P-17 flight above is this:
https://www.youtubeXXX.com/watch?v=4enIHyWH1SE
(remove the XXX in the link)
Copy and paste that adress and try it in some different browsers You can use and see if it works then.
For me the link works in IE 11, Edge, Crome and Firefox.

I think it's to enhance snap performance.
I may be wrong, since I don't understand why this feature would be carried to the stab. Would you need a better snap with the stab? I don't think so!
