Default Samba

Guys, if you want a good flying airplane that actually flies like a pattern ship, one that isn't overweight and snaps when you don't want it to, is well constructed and fairly inexpensive, may I suggest a Northeast Sailplanes Samba? I fly mine with a Hacker A30-12Xl, APC 14x7E, CC 45, and 4S2P lipos. I pull about 41 amps at full throttle and have over 500 watts on hand. Yes, I know this is way over the specs on the Hacker but I only use full throttle on the verticals(unlimited, by the way) and the rest of the manuevers are done at the low 30's. I fly until I get tired and put back 1506 mah into my 4200 pack. How does the Samba do it? It has a NACA 9% wing and doesn't need more than that to fly well. It's also light weight, coming in @ 49 ozs. I added a carbon fibre LG and some wheel pants to spice it up some but the stock gear is ok. I have flaperons but it lands slow enough that I haven't used the flaps. Best of all, it's on sale for $139.95. (No, I don't work for them and I don't get kickbacks). If you are like me, I got tired of wasting money on ARFS that just don't fly right are too fragile. Most ARFS that were intended for glow and converted to electrics are too heavy for good pattern flying.
Just remember, if you use my power system, you do have to use the left stick!

Default RE: Samba

I just madien my samba yesterday and it is one awsome plane. Tracks nice and does pattern manevers very nice.
I am running a Axi 2826/10 with a Castle Creation Phoniex 45 amp. My battery is a Thunder Power 3s2p 4200 pack.
My prop is a 12x8 apc (nitro) prop. It flew so nice I put it in Knife Edge about 10 feet off the ground and it track
very nice. Here is my review and ratings for the plane. It weight 46 ounces.HS-81 all around with a Jr 770s reciever.
I had a Jr 6102 transmitter

The Ratings are a 1 out of 10

Knife Edge-I give that a 10 because it needed no roll to the canopy or nothing. It just tracked.

Loops-I give that a 10 because it tracked nice through the loop, but on the first couple of loops
it was really floopy.

Inverted-I give it a 9 because it used a little down elevator to keep it in track. But it is really nice or
else I wouldn't of put it inverted 7 feet of the ground.

Rolls and snap rolls-I give that a 10 for many reasons, one reason is it tracks straight and in snap rolls there
was no flippy-floppy affect.

Landing-I give it a 10 because it glided right in with no problem and it takes a beating.

take off-I would give it a 8 because it needed about 1/2 of right rudder to keep it tracking straight on the
ground for take off.

One Roll rolling circle-I give that a 10.

I have to agree with you on the Samba being a great flying plane. I have a Astro Flight 806G Brushless motor spinning an Apc 14x7E prop powered with a TP-6000 3s3p Lipo and this combo gives me 500 watt also. The plane it a lot of fun to fly.
