Default Two winter contests in AZ

Want to get away from the weather and get a head start with real competitors? We have two back to back pattern contests here in AZ just 10 miles apart. The first contest well be the Superstition Pattern Classic on Feb 24th to25th. The second contest will be the Desert Challenge, Mar 3rd to 4th. Overnight camping (no hookups) will be available at both fields, but advance notice will be needed for the Superstition contest. We have many pattern snowbirds here from other districts and we are looking to having good numbers. Both fields are friendly so you will be able to get some warm up practice. For the Superstition contest information e-mail Gary Switala at plane.gary@cox.net For the Desert Challenge contest information e-mail John Bentley at j.bentley@usa.net

O.K. guys just a reminder of the upcoming Superstition Contest Feb 25th-25th in Mesa AZ . If you are planning on camping overnight at the AMA field, I will need a week advanced notice to make arrangements for a security guard. If you’re one of the D6 guys that have had their contests canceled due to the weather, you’re welcome to come out and fly at any of our back to back contests here in D7 and show your stuff.

Field open for practice on Friday 800 ft x 85 ft paved runway with 75 ft dirt overruns. 250 ft of covered Ramada, a pit area, and ample room and tables for all

We will have electricity at the field.Overnight parking allowed but firm reservations must be made one week prior. 6 Rounds Weather permitting

All Classes will be flown .

Any AMA legal aircraft is OK for Sportsman and the new Club Class.Entry fee will be $25 for Club Class, and $35 for Sportsman and $45 entry fee for all others, Lunch at the field will be available. Registration starts at 8 AM, wheels up 9:00 AM

F3A will fly 4 rounds of P and 2 rounds of F

The best 3 P and the best F will be used for the final score. F3A Silver will fly P18
