Default 12mm servos for conventional elevators

For elevators on F3A models the Futaba BLS 173 is the standard servo. This is a 15 mm servo.
Lately there are also very strong 12 mm servos from MKS, KST or other manufacturers on the market. These servos are a little lighter than the Futaba BLS 173.
Do some of You use such servos for conventional elevators in F3A?
I would be grateful about experiences with such servos.

Thank you in advance for information
Gerhard

MKS HV 69 is a great choice for that position.

Hi,
I know some people use KST MS325 servos (it is 12 mm in width) for elevators in F3A planes as well as aileron servos in biplanes that use 4 aileron servos wings.
I had planned to use it in one of my F3A planes because it was little too tailheavy with the two Futaba BLS173SV servos, but I selected to move the rudder servo (Futaba BLS171SV) from tail to front instead.
MS= Magnetic Sensor (no potentiometer), that should be low mechanical wear and low temperature sensitivity. MS325 servo cost about $45, Futaba BLS173SV is about $135, so You get 3 MS325 for the cost of 1 BLS173SV. The later servos is very good (I have used them for many years, also the forerunner BLS153). I can not tell how reliable etc the MS325 servo is. For aileron servo on monoplanes and for rudder servo the KST MS589 will work (I have some of these servos also but have not tried them yet in any F3A plane). They cost about $64 or so.

/Bo

I have the KST MS325 servos on the elevators of my Divergent. Going on two years now with no issues. No degradation in flight over that time period. IMO a great value.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
Both seem to be very interesting servos.

Regards
Gerhard
