Thunder Power eXtreme V2 5000
I'm curious if anyone's tried out the new eXtreme V2 batteries from Thunder Power. Their web site claims more power than the previous eXtreme packs and better cycle life.

I have four extreme 3s1p 2200 v2 which are much better under load than the v1 they replaced. As for number of cycles time will tell.

Keith, I bought two of the 10 cell 5000mah V2 packs but haven't flown them yet. They're going into Nick's new Integral that Ed is "assembling". Should be ready in a couple of weeks or so. Will report after a few flights. BTW, the 10 cell setup is slick and I got the inspiration from you. Since everybody is putting the two 5 packs together with tape and foam blocks, I decided to go ahead and just try the one "brick" setup. If there are any problems, TP should be able to repair just as easily and they usually stand behind their products very well.

I had the 10S 5000 V1 brick in my pattern plane last year. I thought it was pretty powerful running a Axi F3a in my Impact. I noticed and from what I heard feared that the cells were going to have a lower life than I had hoped for so I told TP about it and they must have agreed because they replaced it with a new V2 10s pack about 2 weeks ago. I had about 50 cycles on the V1's and still thought it was a powerful pack. I'm looking forward to the V2. One thing I know for sure is that TP's customer service is outstanding. Mike

Yea they replaced my four v1 packs with v2 packs with no charge to me. They even gave me a discount on some 3s 1320 packs to offset the freight costs.

Thank for the feedback. That level of support is great to hear!
I've got a V2 pack on the way and I'm anxious to give it a try.
Thanks,
Keith B

RE: Thunder Power eXtreme V2 5000
My v-1 packs only lasted about 10 cycles before they started losing capacity. When fully charged, they would drop off so fast, under load, that I thought I had some type of electronic failure. I tried discharging them at a 10 amp low rate, and then recharging them. Even then they would drop below LVC the minute I hit the throttle hard. Thunderpower also replaced mine with V-2's at no charge. The V-2's seem to be functioning quite well, at the 25 cycle point.....Pat
