Default Sebart Wind 110

Hi
Does anyone have any info on the new Sebart Wind 110. How it performs, does it have demoutable tail, control set up etc, Or is it still Top Secret in the Sebart Skunk works?

Hi
Not to put to fine a point on it. You have told me exactly what I already knew about the plane. But nothing that I wanted to know. How does it fly? Is it as good( hopefully better) as the Angel. Does it have a removable tail? Does anyone have any info that is not already common knowledge. Like why the hold up in releasing it for example?

Mike,
When the Angel was released (August 2007) I ordered one ...... I received it in January 2008. My estimate is that the same will be true for the Wind 110.

Update .........
I received an e mail from Luigi Fedon (Fedon Aircraft) that stated a shipment of Wind 110's is in route and scheduled to arrive in 35 days. So, it would seem that US customers could have one in hand by Halloween . According to Luigi, the US will be the 1st to receive shipment ..... but .... surely the UK won't be far behind ?

Hi
I guess we will be looking to the US for the first meaningful info on the plane. Still nothing other than the bare info on Seb's website. Come on Seb lets see some information to wet the appetite, maybe a clip or two or perhaps a PDF of the instruction manual.

If she flies just as nice as the Angel S50 then it will be totally awesome. Someone I know works with Seb and had flown the prototype, he says its amazing. Maybe its time to sell the Angel!

Hi Tianci
Cant you interogate your friend some more and get more details? In my opinion Sebaer produce excellent well sorted out ARTFs. I am just praying that his success to date doesnt go to his head and he forgets the basic principals that has made his company and doesnt just go for the money.

I've had one on order since they first started taking orders and I beleive it
will be worth the wait. If you look on Sebarts web site there is a video of the
Wind 110 and all I can say is Wow !! That is what I call smooth !!

Hi
Interesting video, certainly seems to fly smooth and rock solid. How much of that is the design and how much is the man himself remains to be seen. It seems to have a demountable tail and a servo for each elevator half mounted in the tail. Rudder is driven by a cockpit mounted pull pull servo. I wonder why he only went for the T cannaliser on the 3D version only?

Mike ... I don't think I want to interrogate my pal! I can turst his judgment as he assists Seb in testing the planes. From what I have been informed I feel Seb is not the sort of person to let success get to his head. Maybe its because he is Italian I guess.

He got nice flying planes ... they cost a bomb here but I immediately took the Angel when it landed. Got no regrets at all. One of the F3A guys in Singapore flew the P09 with the Angel on 5S, on a windy day too! I would love to get a 2x2 from Sebart if there were one to order, doubt I want to go with the Wind 110 ... wish the Wind came first, would have taken it rather than the Angel.

Hi Tianci
The interogation things was more of a Joke. I actually think Sebs stuff is very reasonable, price wise. I too have the Angel and wished he had gone with the Wind first but I can understand his motives for going with the smaller Angel. He was trying to create a market that really didnt exist at the time, now he has done that it is time for the Wind. I will be getting one as soon as they become available however i intend to run mine on 10 cell not eight as it hedges my bets for my next big electric.
I think Seb will see how well the wind sells before he commits to such a massive project as a full 2 metre job , he also has to consider the limited market. I think that is why he isnt marketing his Miss Wind F3A biplane himself.

Hey Mike,

I intend to run mine with a 10 cell set up also. The 6350-16t Dualsky motor (1.40 size)
is actually lighter in weight than the recommended Hacker motor. It remains to be seen
if it will physicaly fit in the cowl.

Hi Tommy
i was planning on sticking with the recommended Hacker motor. It is capable of handling 10s cells. It means a minor weight penalty but i doubt if i will notice it. I will be very interested in your result with the Dualsky motor.

I would go with 10S, maybe 4,000 mah to keep the AUW lower. Perhaps I should look into the Wind if it even arrives here! Then I can sell my Angel off. Bigger flies better right?

Fedon Aircraft. Hi Luigi. Thank you for the call this evening. Now I understand why it's taken so long for me to get the Cowl. I would like to inform the readers of this thread, that most of the problems I've had with Feddon Aircraft, is due to a lack of understanding. As it were......Luigi is Italian, (with a heavy accent) and I'm a "redneck" Georgia Boy (with a heavy southern accent). I went to Tennessee, in July and picked up my Katana 120. I found out today that Fedon Aircraft, had just received their first 30 planes when I picked mine up. I didn't realize that they did not have parts on hand at the time. as is my habit, when I see an airplane that I like I usually buy it. As some of those like myself will understand, ........we sometimes will have to suffer from some of the flaws that have to be worked out if we are the bata flyers. THAT......more than anything else, is what happened with this airplane. As I said in my other post, "I will recommend this Aircraft to anyone. The quality is outstanding, and the design is well........just look at the designer, enough said about that. After talking with Luigi, I now better understand what's going on, and I also will not hesitate to recommend "Fedon Aircraft", to anyone wishing to purchase some of the best ARF'S, in the hobby. As a matter of fact, I'm going to get one of the Pitt's Biplane's from Fedon, just as soon as they come in. Only this time....... I'll understand if I need a part before they arrive. Thanks, LUIGI Bob Laine

I ordered my Pitts Python from FEDON AIRCRAFT, today. Can't wait to get it in the air. I already have the yellow & black, "Zero Gravity", 42", and it's a real pleasure to fly. Simply the best biplane in it's class period........... Knowing the quality of the Sebart ARF'S, This "BIPE" will really be a big hit in the US market. Especially in this 120-140 size.

Hi
Has anyone got a Wind 110 yet and if so what are the initial impressions.
I have looked pretty closely at the PDF of the instructions and the only thing I can see I dont like us holding the removable canopy on with Screws. For something that will be going on and off 3 to 4 times a flying season I think it will be at least a pain and probably break fairly rapidly but hopefully I have a way round that.

I am also hoping to run it on 10 cells by putting an AXi in the nose instead of the recommended Hacker.

Anyone else there got similiar plans?

M
