Guys, Im looking at one of these wind pro white version NIB for a fair price. Are these still a decent planes by todays standards or should I bite the bullet and get the latest and greatest thing out there. I dont fly contest but I do enjoy precision flight. Been flying a CA Models Genesis for the last couple of years. Looking for ideas on painting the fuse and doing something with the wing for color, Thank Mike
I am wondering if the Mythos Pro is worth 2x the cost of one of these Wind S Pro planes from Thunderpower.

Well they are still listed as being for sale as of this morning. I don't believe the green one is all composite from the description on the ad but the information could be wrong. It says the "street' price was $2183.00 IIRC and that's the price for the composite fuse/built up wings and tail feathers. The all composite version was another $600.00 or so dollars above that price at $2785.00 IIRC?

The Green Wind S Pro Thunder Power has for sale/has sold is not the full composite version. It is the stardard version, composite fuselage with built up wings and stabs. The full composite version is pushing $4,000. I know TPRC has full composite wing and stab sets for sale if you are interested. The only thing is they aren't in the green scheme so you would have to re-paint them to match your color scheme.

I bought the last full composite green version from them and a basic red/white from a private seller from vegas who was nice enough to pick the composite up and meet me half way to Phoenix.

If you can swap it I would. The shear web bracing the wing tube socket fails and eventually the socket will come loose with the wing skin separating from the root rib. The result if not detected could be a total loss of the model.
Cheers,
Jason.

If possible I would recommend you swap the composite wings for the stock built wings as well. As nice as the full composite wings look, Australia isn't the only place I have heard of where the composite wings have failed.

I witnessed one failure and it appeared the wing tube was a little short and didn't engage the rib at the end of the socket. The airplane was replaced and I believe they added a stop to make sure the tube is properly centered.

I did have photos once upon a time but they seem to have been deleted.

These issues were addressed in late production batches of the all-composite Wind S Pro 2m models. That said, for those that may not be aware (many here already are...this is mostly intended to clarify for those that are unaware now and in the future) the Wind S Pro 2m model was discontinued last year and replaced by the Mytho S Pro 140E 2m which has no related or other issues.
And for those in the US/North America that might be interested, we currently have both color versions of the Mytho S Pro 140E in stock and ready to ship from our warehouse here in Las Vegas. Both color versions of the Mytho S 125E and many other SebArt models, parts and accessories are also in stock and ready to ship.
