Hi,

I just purchased one a few weeks ago, primarily because everyone seems to like the plane. There is an extensive thread on the plane if you jump into the pattern forum (not electric pattern) and do a search.

Good luck,

Teo

I had the opportunity to fly one a while back, and it flew fantastic. Seba did a great job of scaling the airplane down, and it actually "flew", it didn't just get jerked around by the motor. I went through P09 with it and it was very solid. From what I could see on the construction of the airplane, it looked nice as well.

I'd say go for it.

I've had 3 and flown them 5s and 6s. Sold two and kept one. In its category of 60 inch planes, I don't think anything compares. I preferred the plane lighter rather than heavier, and if you have 5s batteries or are thinking of moving up to 2M 10s soon than I would recommend a 5s setup. Properly setup their is little or no coupling anywhere, and its perfectly capable of competing in Intermediate or Sportsman competitions. For what it's worth I did a group comparison of models, and although the Angel was bigger than the other models I think it speaks well for Seb that the Angel stood out head and shoulders above the rest.

hey all,

Thanks for your responses. i have one on order and purchased a Hacker 50 to power it with the attitude to change it if need.

So battery wise 5s is the best or what do we recommend.

i'm just trying to set it up to get the most out of it. i'd rather build it once than upgrade it 4 times.

thanks all,

Craig

Craig ... 5S is good enough for pattern flying and 6S if you want to happily prop hang. A note ... please reinforce the battery tray if you are running like 5S 4,900 mAh packs. The tray was not made for big packs.

If you plan to fly 5S, than a motor with kV ~500 is needed. In case with Hacker 50 series that should be A50-12S.

I used to fly Angel with A50-16S on Rhino 6S 3700mAh with 16x10 prop, but the next one will be on A50-12S, Rhino 5S 4900mAh and 15x10 prop.

What should be absolutely taken into consideration is that not all batteries perform the same, actually they perform very different.

Just a thought, but I have been running the A50-12S on a 16x10 for two years on three different 12S motors. Peak amps around 65 and the motor is cool to the touch on landing. I wouldn't recommed it for 3D stuff, but no problem for pattern work

I have been trying to buy one for months. The US distributor got sent all yellow ones.......I wanted a red/blue/white one. They're supposed to get another shipment at the end of this month. Hopefully I'll get one then....though Esprit models has been kinda weird about it when I call them. :/

I have been running my angel 50 now for some time. I have used an A50-12S and Hyperion 4025-10 on 5S 3800. I can report that that the performance is very good. I think the 6S has more power and better duration even though the amp draw is lower.

I have the angel 30 which I run on 4S 2250. I use the same packs on bandit hotliner and demon F5D, I wanted to standardise the packs so I am only using the 4S ones. So I have now changed the motor setup for an 8S setup. I have used TURNIGY 50-65D 270kv and a TURNIGY Sentilon100A HV Xoar 16 x 12 prop, the motor is about 5mm longer than the Hacker

The results: at full power I draw 45A, 1300W, the thust and speed is out of this world, far better than the 5S setups above. As I am using so little average power I am getting an easy 8 to 9 mins flight time. The flight packs in the plane are about 1/3rd of the price of the 5S 3800. Not rite for all, but very good setup for a great plane...

Cheers

Kris

I just got mine yesterday from someone here on RCU, thanks Tim! About 4 hours into it and need another hour for motor installation and she'll be ready to go. I used all of the included hardware and followed all the instructions almost to the letter. Incredibly well built and thought out. The Turnigy 5065 is a direct bolt on. Starting with 6s 3700's, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully the WX will hold out....

Does anyone know what brand and color covering, specifically the blue, is on the Angel S 50? I had some flutter off and wanted to repair it.

Thanks

On the first models that came out the magnets for canopy retention where a bit weak and needed to be backed up with a catch, I don't know if they have upgraded them, but the new yellow one I just received will get a catch just the same as it makes a good handle to remove the canopy with, otherwise you have to put your fingernails under the rear edge to lift the canopy and it will eventualy break and/or shead paint.

Also after prolonged use the ply incidence pin holes in the fus will ovalise and allow the wing to move up and down, I put some carbon washers inside to reinforce them, other than that I have not found anything that needs any work.

Hey all,
i had my Angel arrive 2 weeks abgo. it took me only a couple nights to get it ready for maiden. The kit is brilliant. not one missing part or damaged goods. Well Done SeBart...

I flew it on the motor i got given... i got it as a pressie. hacker A50 - 16S. i do agree with all of you, 5S just doesn seem to perform with this motor.
It does everything in flight but it is lazy in flight. at the moment i'm running a 16x8 prop with a 5s 4900mah Rhino battery.

For opitimum performance i am looking at upgrading, with what i have above, whats the best thing to upgrade first?? Motor or Battery??

Overall though, the aircraft looks Stunning in the air and does exactly what you want it to do. doesnt hesistate.

RCflyboy

Try 6 cells,I have the A50 16S in the Sebart Sukhoi with 3700mah 6 cell FP Evo 25 ,very nice combo. At this moment I am transferring this setup into an Angel 50, the Angel has less drag ,thinner wings..... so I am looking forward to see it perform.

Should be perfect.

Hey Gerrie,
I just ordered a 6s 49000mah pack. so hopefully that gets here soon and find out if that flies the way i want it.

What prop did you spin on the Sukhoi?

i am so happy with the angel and its look and build. it is an awesome model and as this is my first SeBart aircraft, it certainly wont be the last..............

Thanks

Flyboy she is a looker, last year I wanted to get the Angel ,but they were out of stock and got the Sukhoi instead which fly super. Well done SEBART!
Since I actually am more a pattern flyer I needed to get the Angel, what a beauty - and now I got one!

I use a 16 10 Xoar on the Sukhoi but will use the 16 10 APC on the Angel to get the spinner to fit.

You should check the weight of the batterie -mine is 630 gm and remember the Angel has a smaller wing so you dont want to use a batterie that is to heavy, more mah usually means more weight.

I will see how mine flys with above batterie and then decide on what more packs to buy to get some flying time-probably need 4 more packs.

Gerrie,
Yeah i am a boit worried about the weight given the wing size.. but i am trying to find the optimum power package to get the best power with the best weight with the longest flight time.

I am not sure whether i'll win on all 3 but its worth a shot. but i do know with the 50 -16s motor i have struck out on the 5s, it does need a 6s its just the mah's that'll cause the prob. how longa flight do you get out of the Angel with the battery your using??

Hmmm Sukhoi flew well?? i'm a pattern lover as well but i also love a model just to thro around sky as well.

Guys

I use an AXI 4130/16 on an APC 16x10 with 6S 4350Mah Flightpower batteries on my angel with them pushed back against the wing tube, the weight or C of G has never been an issue, I get a good 10mins out of each pack, enough for two complete mini schedules anyway.

Hey all,
Hmmmmmmm, so many different power setups to use. i flew my Angel tonight. It was good. i thoroughly enjoyed it. a bit slow to get off the deck but once off the ground and she built up speed. there was no stopping her. it was excellent. she did go vertical and did hover.. Hover was lazy but it did it. it does need a little more guts. so im thinking of a 6s 3700 mah battery pack to give it more grunt. Prop size i have still got to play with. at the moment i have a 16x8 APC on it.
i do think i have the power setup completely correct to optimize it.

  i am running the A50-16s hacker with 5s 4900mah with a 60amp speed controller woith 16x8 prop.

Help me out guys. Where am i wrong in the setup??

I think she is a little heavy with the 4900mah...
