Is there a Good pattern plane that works on 5s 5000mah

I got a 2x2m sebart wind s pro but looking for a smaler off season plane that will work on 5s 5000mah battery.

Any of the 70 size composite fuse planes from BJCraft (Fantasista, Nuance, BiSide) are good in a 5s 5000 pack (just pick appropriate Kv motor)
Youll likely end up around a 16x12 to 17x10 prop or so

There is also the Citrin 50e biplane, scales down version of the Oxai 2m Citrin

There are also other options from Sebart in his 50 size category (Wind, Miss Wind, etc)

You can also look at some of the 6s pattern planes and again pick a 5s friendly motor/prop.

I have a 62" Acuity with a 5S set up on a Hacker A50-12s V4 w/ Falcon 16x10 2B and CC Phoenix Edge 75 ESC. Flies well.

Thanx for the sugggestions on different planes. Just ordered a sebart wind s e50. Found out that the hobby shop i usualy use had a discount on a red and White wind s 50. And its the same Color as my 2x2m wind s pro 😊
have not deside that motor i will use, have som leying in the hobby room that maby will work Good on 5s.

Another option to perhaps consider is a belt drive setup. 50Products in Japan sells one, which I bought for my Fantasista 70.
BJCraft is now offering 3-4 different size belt drives; you can see them on the Bondaero site in the UK or on BJCraft site in Korea.

I would also consider the Ascent 70 from Naruke - very light and totally up to date layout !
Not a cheap option, but getting away from average is never cheap !!
Now, if Milan Valenta would finally come up with his light 5s contra drive - that would be the summit !!

Hi Krille,
I have a Wind S 50E also (since 2011). It really is a 6 cell LiPo plane but 5 cell should be OK also if You choose motor, ESC and prop combo for an optimal 5S setup.
I use Hacker A50-16S 378 kv, 345 gram (version 2, there is V4 today) with 6 cell LiPo (some old Gens Ace 500 mAh 45C), APC 17x10 electric prop, and and old Castle Creation Phoenix ICE 100 ESC (with BEC in use).
It produce according to Castle log 7780 RPM and 70 amp on full throttle in the air.
I know one guy flew a Wind S 50E with 5 cell at the Nordic Championships in F3A-Nordic (Advanced) class in 2015 here in Sweden. I saw him fly at that contest.
I belive he used an OS Electric motor, OS 5020 490 kv.
Attachment 2263092
I do not remember ESC and prop and what brand of LiPo he used and how many C and how many mAh.
It flew well but I remember the person flying it said it was slightly underpowered with 5S in more windy conditions.
To get same power (watt) on a similar 5S setup as on 6S the amp has too go up, so choose an ESC that can cope with higher max current and use a LiPo that can draw higher currents from.
Compare my setup for example: 6S = 22.2 volt (nominal) x 70 amp on full throttle in air =1554 watt. If You want that watt on 5S: 1554 watt / 18.5 volt = 84 amp.
And then one want some marging for the ESC, maybe at least 20% so perhaps an ESC that can take 100 amp continous should be fine in that case.

It is also good to try to keep the flying weight down including the LiPo battery.
You can skip the wheelpants to save some weight, You can get lighter wheels like Dubro Super Lite Wheels 57 mm (10 gram each),carbon landing gear instead of the aluminium gear, light servos, a light carbon prop instead of the heavier APC electric prop (that are good but heavy), carbon spinner instead of a heavier plastic/nylon spinner etc.
I have DuBro skiis on my Wind S 50E, and I have a home made skii for the tail wheel.

I have read that most of what i seen on different forums seems to be flying with 6s.

But i gone try a 5s setup most because i have 4 packs of 2x5s 5000 for my 2x2m wind S. So i got in total 8 packs that i can use on the 50 size. And I also had a good 5s motor/esc combo laying in my hobbyroom.
Have been testing a little today and the plane ready to fly will be around 3,1kg, the static trhust is 4,9-5kg on almost fully charge pack. Peak Amp was oround 75, dont remember peak watt but i think it was 13-1400w.
75% trottle is what i think gone be a good cruise speed was 45A.

I have some 2x6s pack for my 700 heli but its one 5000, one 5500 and one 6000mah and both the 5500 and 6000 is pretty heavy.

I ran a wind *50 for a number of years until I crashed it and moved up to 2M
Ran 5S with a Scorpion 630kV motor and 14 x 7 prop
would love to find another to do the same as you but hard to find here now
