I've been watching the site for a while and the power combo is always out of stock. Which Turnigy motor could I use in this model?

That depends on whether you are going with a 3s or 4s set-up. On 3s I would go with the Turnigy TR-42-40A.

On 4s I would go with the Turnigy TR-35-48B. (This is the set-up I prefer) I'm flying my Extreme Flight Vanquish on 4s using a Omega

130G870 Motor. This set-up gives me about 490 watts at the Prop.

I am going to pick up the Vanquish II today....
What kind of HObby King stuff can I place in it??
MOtor
ESC
Battery

THis is my 1st electric and I have NO IDEA, of what I am doing....
I could by the more exspensive stuff, but I dont' know if it is worth it...
I would rather get a RImfire than the EF motors...

I put a hobbypartz Power 25 (870kv) motor, with a 50 amp speed controller, and a 4 cell 3000mah battery. Has plenty of power with a apc 13x6.5 e prop.
I have HS-65MG on elevator and rudder, and HS65HB on aileron.

What do those run in cost?

I may wait on this plane...
I would like to be able to fly anytime anywhere,
but when I can just by a glow plane or gas and fly (have all the elctronics, and engines) for 200-400$
It is hard buy electric, when you would have to buy the plane$ Motor-80$ ESC-50$ 3-sets of batteries 150-250$
micro sevos-50-250$ (If you go digital)

=700$ for a little plane....

The price I would pay to get this up and running...

RE: New E.F. 48

Motor 19.70, esc 20.00, batteries 29.70 ea., servos can get different types HobbyKing D_MG 16 9.36ea.

Check BP Hobbies Hobby King others can usually get good prices.

RE: New E.F. 48

Could someone LINK the right motor and ESC and Battery?

The benifit of paying more is it is POINT ant Click...
I just don't have the time to read through all the KV, can size and all that other Bs....
to find one that works...
Nor do I really want to...

I know this sounds tiffy, but I just have too much on my plate right now with other things....

Thanks..

You wouldn't have that much in the plane. You can get the plane/motor/ESC from Extreme Flight for $299. Then add 4 HS-65MG servos for about $30 each (you don't need digitals) and a Turnigy 2650 mah 4S lipo from HK for $33 and you talking about $450 for it. Add two more batteries for $66 more and your still only talking about $500 total. Plus, in you estimate for the nitro plane you don't include the price of fuel, but that is a real value you have to consider, especially if your considering the price of the batteries for the Vanquish. Three pack should give you about 50 - 100 flights each before needing replaced, totaling 150 - 300 flights. How much fuel will you burn in that many flights with a nitro plane, and how much will it cost? Without considering the battery cost your looking at about $420 for the Vanquish - same for your nitro one, plus none of the hassles of dealing with fuel, cleanup, etc.

My Vanquish Mk11 arrived this afternoon, very impressed with the quality and lightness of the airframe. Will start work tomorrow and intend to complete it in one day. Power will be Hyperion 3020-10 / CC Phoenix 45 / 4S 2600 Lipo / APC 13x6.5E for starters. The Hyperion just slots into the the pre-drilled and blind nut mount with no adjustment required, 4x Hitec 65MG servos.

Okay

Opened the box at 9am and started work, very easy build or should I say assembly, a few things changed from the Mk1 such as ball links on both ends of the pushrods etc. All holes in covering pre-cut etc. which saves time, nice quality touches such as carbon rod stringers on the fuselage, carbon U/C and pre-fitted canopy latch, covering and trim very nicely applied. After four hours solid work it was finished, a meter test showed the Hyperion was producing nearly 900 w at full power which is way too much. I need to rethink the motor / prop combination. As the weather was fair with around 10mph wind I headed to the field and had three flights, minimum of trim required and very strong performance with unlimited vertical with nowhere near full throttle. 2000 mah consumed for a 6 minute flight. The Vanquish flies very well, pulling a little to the landing gear on knife edge, will need a small amount of mix here. Flying weight is 3lbs 2oz.

Good value for money? It is £150 in the UK which is a lot for a small model but the quality is good and it flies well. Only thing missing from tlhe kit was a spinner which I will fit asap.

I see you are running a similiar setup to me with an 870kv motor / 4S lipo, APC 13x6.5. Have you put a meter on it to see what you are getting amps / watts wise?

RE: New E.F. 48

I was getting 42 amps full throttle didn't check watts, but will next time. Has crazy power but needs a throttle curve as low throttle is sluggish and 3/4 and over is fast. Flying for 7 1/2 minutes my battery came down lukewarm and the voltage was still 15.2 so I could go a good bit longer.

I have the opposite situation! I have had to limit the throttle travel as I was getting full power at half throttle. I only need about 40% of full travel to get 600watts, is there a method to stretch the throttle travel to 100% and still get only 40-50-% of full power?

I'm sure there is, but I'm not sure how. It probably depends on the radio. Hopefully someone will see this that can tell you how. I know some bring the atv down but I'm not sure if you can take it down that low.
