Invictus EF-1 ARF from Hobby King
Guys,
I have been working with Hobby King to develop an ARF for the EF-1 class for well over a year. We chose Invictus, it's different and sexy looking. I have been flying the prototype for some time, and even took it to the NATS. I couldn't be happier with how it flies! It was designed from the outset to be an ARF.
Today I received the first production sample from the factory. I was not prepared for how nice it is! They have really done a first class job, and I'm sure will change some peoples perception of Hobby King. I will be putting it together over the next few days and will give a flight report soon. I am doing the instruction manual, so there won't be any head scratching or translation errors there.
It has a single piece foam core wing with vacuum bagged skins, fiberglass and carbon reinforced cowl, wheel pants & canopy hatch. The cowl is mounted with hidden fasteners accessible through the cheek holes, and the canopy is held on with magnets.
Now, to answer a few questions that are sure to come up:
I don't know when it will be released
I don't know how much it will cost
I'm not sure if this is the final color scheme or if they will offer other schemes or solids
I will add more information as I have it.
Cheers

RE: Invictus EF-1 ARF from Hobby King
Hi Ed,
Yes the design is approved, I received it before I started building actually. I have measured all critical dimensions of the prototype from the factory, and there is no issue. Unfortunately I don't have any info as to when it will be released. I do know that it is Chinese New Year and things tend to slow down. I just as anxious as you lol.
