Default Speed Control Question

Speed control Question????

I don't want to pick any particular brand.

This is a general question!

On a helicopter do you use the low voltage cut off? (soft / hard ) or not at all!

I know it's is to keep the battery pack from going below a set voltage, to protect the battery

I had two incidents in the past year dumb me grabbed the wrong battery pack and it cost me repairs.

And Yes I the packs were charged just different ma's

I knew I was able to fly safe for 5 minutes with time to spare (with the correct pack), but for reasons I am not going to go into I just screwed up.

Default RE: Speed Control Question

HI THERE
WELL FOR HELI YOU NEED SOFT CUT, SO WHEN THE ESC SEE LOW VOLTAGE IT WILL REDUCED SPEED, SO YOU CAN SAFETY LAND, THERES NO REASON TO INDICATED THAT YOU CAN CRASH YOU MODEL, IF NOT SET RIGHT.
IN THIS HOBBY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY... GET DECENT BRAND ESC YOU WILL BE FINE. USUALLY ESC USES AUTOLIPO DETECTION FEATURE SO NO WAY THE ESC CONFUSE BATT AS YOU DESCRIBED. SET RIGHT AND YOU BE FINE. FOR 450 HELI RANGE OF 30- 40AMP.

Thanks for your answer!

1st I am not exactly new in the helicopter hobby rusty but not new!

I have a 250, 450, 500 and a 600 helicopter and fly them all!

And yes you can mix up the packs!

Example 3300 MA 6s 3000 MA 6s 5000 I have hover my 600 on one of the 3 packs (3000 ma and the 3300 ma pack)

I was setting up the helicopter and was going to fly and went into the house to get the 5000 ma pack (full Charged) and grabbed the 3300 ma pack!(see now) yes it is different in size but in the excitement!

took the wrong pack.

What was a easy 5 minute flight turned out to be only a 4 minute and 45 second flight.

And yes I do use a timer and a lipo alarm on the helicopter!

I could not figure out why the alarm was going off on the helicopter ONLY after 4 minutes and 45 seconds of sport flying! ( a few loops and a few flips)

And yes it was the 3300 ma pack I strapped on the helicopter

And as for the speed control/s I don't have junk, so what you buy is what you get don't hold.

The original question was about the cut off.

Oh yea to low to auto rotate.

I may just need a check list!
