What is 3.5 channels? The definition of "channel" as we use it in this hobby, can be and should be substituted by "function". A helicopter with 5 channels is a helicopter with 5 functions. As I wrote above,

1 channel: throttle
2 channels: Throttle, rudder
3 channels: Throttle, rudder, elevator (first ability to hover)
4 channels: Throttle, rudder, elevator, aileron
5 channels: Throttle, rudder, elevator, aileron, collective pitch
5+ channels: Throttle, rudder, elevator, aileron, pitch, gadgets (gyro, governor, ect.)
Since I've only seen these helicopters in the internet, I have not had a chance to read their instruction manual. I am very curious to know why they try to use the term 3.5 channels. When in fact we should know that it is not possible to have half a function.
