tap a tail motor anyones know about taps?
I want to tap my new tail motors I am getting. Well so the screws fit in them. I know they are m1.4x0.3 but the question I have is do I want tapper ,plug or bottoming. Thanx for looking and helping

Depends on what you are tapping. Very simply put, A tapered tap is needed. It is used because it is smaller on the starting end to get the threads started. It will be the only tap you need if you are tapping through a piece of sheet where the tap can go all the way through. If you are trying to tap something like a hole only drilled in something but doesnt go all the way through, then you need the tapered tap to start it and then a bottoming tap to get good threads to the bottom. Not sure what they mean by a plug tap.
