Default bough a hummingbird

We setup the hummingbird but for some reason the gyro isnt compensating for the blades spinning.

The heli will spin like crazy and then ill tap the joystik to the right then the rudder will spin at full speed and make the plane spin yhe other way.

What would cause this?

How is the rudder supposed to spin, on its own by how fast the blade is going on?

can you make adjustment to your electronics? Is the gyro put on the body rite? these are a few things to check out.
the tail should speed up more the faster your head is going. when you push the tail stick to the right the tail should go left. think of it as witch way you want the nose to go when doing this though...its easier. anything that helps?

yes it does need to be in a certain position from what I remember from reading in the forums. I would put it in the back ...below the boom and I thin it needs to be sideways.....but dont quote me on that. let me look things up a bit and ill get back to you before I go to bed.

velcomrob

Mounting the gyro on the front or back will make no difference on such a tiny model. I believe your original problem was the model spinning around like crazy though...????
To fix this just change the position of the gyro top to bottom that will fix the problem.

Yeah and that picture just looks like the boom is comming out the front. In reality there is no boom on the heli at all. It is a wire that you see.

Hey velcomrob I am having the exact same problem you are. When you first installed your gyro did you have it exactly as the manual had it with the the letter C in century on the bottom and the letter Y at the top? PLEASE say yes because if I can just flip this damn thing the other way and get rid of my spinning problem that would be sweet....

Default RE: bough a hummingbird

I just got my hummingbird set up last night and also seem to have a gyro reversal problem. I know *for sure* that the gyro is mounted just like in the pictures (C down, Y up, etc.), but I found that if I disconnect the main rotor motor and hold the hummingbird by the main rotor blades so it can spin freely, the gyro is not working right. If I spin the body a little bit to the right, the tail rotor kicks in and spins the body even faster to the right.

I'm going to flip the gyro upside down tonight and see if that fixes it, but I'm really curious as to why that would be necessary. There shouldn't be any difference from one Century gyro or control board from the next one.

I'm using a Futaba Skysport radio (only thing weird was I had to reverse the throttle channel, no big dial). I'm 90% certain that the rudder channel is working right, as when I was first trying to get the thing off the ground rudder input from the radio would do the right thing.
