Default Razor MH V2 and 7.4V 2C Li-Po?

Anyone out there using a Razor Micro Heli V2 brushless motor with a 2C 7.4V Li-Po with any luck?

I have two of these batteries already and I'm in the throws of moving the main to brushless on my FP Mini Dragonfly. The suggestions I've read from dealers is to use 3C 11.1v li-po's but none were clear on how the motor would compare with the 2C 7.4v li-po's.

If anything I would hope that I'd have at least the same or more lifting power than the existing GWS EM300 main motor (speed 280 I think) with my 7.4v batteries.

great to hear Jerry....but not really the specific confirmation I'm after here.

Just a bit worried the Razor V2 will be a bit under powered without 11.1volts.

I use a razor v2 in my aerohawk, it is an amazing motor. So small and light(27g) but so powerful. I use a 3s lipo and it goes ballistic I actually worry about the head coming unclipped because of the climb rate. I have tried it on a 2s and it still lifts off no problem with less than half stick, this is with cut blades too, and my 2s is only 700 MAH. 7.2 volts on this motor gives a theoretical 30960 rpm which on a standard aerohawk gearing would give a head speed of 3225. So voltage isnt a problem but you do need a certain amount of current, what MAH batteries are you using I would recomend no less than a 1200.

sounds promising. I've got 2C 7.4V 1500mAH Li-Po's.

Ok. I can now confirm myself that the 7.4V 2 cell 1500mAH Kokam high discharge Li-Po's work brilliantly with the Razor V2.

Staggering amount of extra RPM. So much so that I will have to do the same and trim a certain amount off the trailing edge of the stock blades so I can run at a higher RPM with the same lift I had at a lower RPM with the original motor.

I assume at a higher rpm I should get more of a stabalizing gyro effect happening much like you see with the Shogun 400.

Killer of a motor for it's size. Bit of a pain trying to get the stainless steel pinion to stay locked in place on the shaft. Tried super glue and that didn't help. Ended up getting the original brass one off the old motor and found it held far better (and the teeth were a better size).

Highly recommended motor...IMO.

I use a pinion made for a HPI Micro RS4 which works perfectly. It holds ok, I got it from rcboys.com. The only thing I found with cut blades is yes you do get a smoother response but you loose the climb rate.
