    E-Power 11.1V 1300mAH 3S Li-Po Battery ?

    Hello,

This is the battery on sale at HeliDirect for $19.99.

Is this a good quality battery ? More importantly, is it safe ?

With the potential volatility of LiPo technology, it would seem to be common sense to only buy well-made, safe, LiPo's. With this battery being sold at such a low price, it brings up these concerns. For instance, it's "C" rating is not as high as my 1250mAH Electri-Fly LiPo. Does this make any difference when used to power a BCP ?

    RE: E-Power 11.1V 1300mAH 3S Li-Po Battery ?

    Fissy,

I just bought three of them. Well, I ordered two and after a mix up, I got three. Anyway, They seem to be very good. I have charge/discharged it three times with no problems. One thing to note is that they are heavy. They weigh about the same as the NiHi battery that comes with the blade. I was using a 950mh 3 cell Lipo and got used to the fact that it's light and when I installed the 1300ha, the performance was very different. My motor got hotter and it seemed to struggle a little getting off the ground.

I got two also. Good capacity and I do not mind the weight for that kind of flight time. The leads on mine are very heavy and stiff. This was my only complaint until one developed a loose connection internally. I thought the connector went bad as I have about 8 flights/cycles on each but after putting on new connectors, the one can not be trusted. Its outside in the cold....to be safe.

Can you charge it with the stock (orange) balance charger?

Yes you can, However i suggest getting a better charger. I started with that charger and it died after 10 charges and when it died, it also destroyed the battery. So I wish i would of spent $25 earlier (for charger) and got the $20 e-flight battery rather than $25 for battery and cheap charger, then anopther $45 shortly after.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHNW5&P=ML $25 good charger. If you have plenty of $ and plan to move on later with bigger helis, I would get this ( http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCJG7&P=ML ), for it will charge whatever you put on it.

I'm confused. Are these balance chargers that you're recommending?

Is the stock charger that died on you the orange balance charger? I have two and have been using them almost daily for over a month w/ no problems.

    Thanks!

Yea thats it. I guess mine had a defect in it. So if others chime in and say they work, then keep it. I wouldnt from my experience, but thats just one person.
