Blade CP. Nicked a blade today
This is probably stupid to post, but I'm so new to electric helis. I was practicing hovering, and just got a little squirrly. I kinda of let the heli down hard, and it spun, nicking the tip of one of the blades. It was at low or no power when the strike occured. It doesn't seem bad; I CA'd the slight split in the wood and the covering back down. I pulled the blade and rotated the feathering spindle to check for any side-to-side movement of the blade holders- it checks okay. I test flew the heli, and it seems fine. There might be a very slight vibration, just enough to wiggle the battery lead, but I can't tell if that was there before or not. Is this a big deal with this particular helicopter, or am I probably okay? Is there anything else I might need to check?

The only other thing you might want to do is rebalance the blades since you added glue to one of them. That might get rid of the vibration.

RE: Blade CP. Nicked a blade today
Yeah, I did take the head off and balanced everything on a Dubro spin balencer. I did have to add tape to the opposite rotor tip to level it out. I also noticed that the flybar was not centered from the factory, so I bumped it over about 2mm. The paddles weren't completely level with that teter bar thing, so I did those as well. Now it seems to fly even smoother. But just the same, I went out and built up a spare parts supply. Does it matter if the 4 in on thing is taped on crooked?
