dditch. For Sale, a Falcon 40 and a bunch of goodies to go with it. I used to fly it, I don't fly it any more and it's all for sale. See it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTs_yU35bPg
Listen to the rotor RPM. That's a real buzz for a fixed pitch. It' running Super Skids, upgraded motor with fuse, Xtreme Production flat wooden blades (1 used- 1 new)(255mm x 8°) and it's way more stable than stock. I have spare stock blades (4 sets), spare tail rotors (3), a complete head assembly ready to install (1), spare swash (2), motor (2), tail motor (1), main drive gear (1), Canopies (2 green, 1 blue), the servos are both rebuilt and fresh. I regeared the motor for more rpm with the wooden blades. You'll like it.
If you or any of the folks on the forum are interested in a package deal, let me know and I'll put together a price. Since all of the new stuff is 2.4ghz, there's no need to package the Tx and pay shipping so I won't bother sending it unless someone wants it.
I don't have a battery so I connected it to a regulated power supply and it all came to life perfectly. The blades that are mounted have been grounded so they are out of balance a bit, but some epoxy on the tips would make them usable.
There ya go - an upgrade package for your Falcon - all tested and set up. What you see on youtube is the helicopter I'm selling.

Ok, I just broke one of my main rotor blades.. Need input to what I can replace them with. I believe the Falcon 40 comes with plastic blades. I need to know if I stay with 205mm blades, do I have to buy the exceed brand or can I use others..

Thanks

Mack,
You can use other brands. Try looking here: www.ushoppysupply.com Michael is great, fast shipping and very reasonable prices.

Thanks for the info, I assume you meant USHOBBYSUPPLY.com  They have what I want but they are out of stock of alot of the blades.
Next question, Since my falcon 40 is a Fixed Pitch, I need a certain degree of pitch built in.  They have some that are 8 degrees also 10, but this seems like getting into 3d flying and I just want to putter around...

Thanks

I bought these blades when they were on sale for 2.99 http://search2.hobby-lobby.com/psear...uid=2&q=EKS202
(Now for $11.20)

These blades that xheli has as a replacement when the falcon blades are out of stock http://www.xheli.com/ek1-0202.html fit but you have to re use the small spacer from the original blades so that the hardware will fit correctly.

I bought these http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=9276

They will take 2 to 3 weeks to get to you. I bought three of them and they work great. After I got them I thought that I should have bought the11.1 voltsbattery.

Also, see post 9215. orsee this link

Chris, I too have ordered batts from hobby king. My only gripe about them is like you said 2-3 weeks and about $20.00 shipping. Hobby Parts is here in the sates, and you usually get in about 1 week, and about $5.00 shipping. Give them a try next time. Jim

Jim

Thanks for the reply. My original batteries were 1300mha, 11.1v & 3 cells. These came from Art Tech. 2 years ago. No C rating on the batteries. Can I use a 2 cell or a 3 cell? Does it make any difference? Sounds like Hobby Parts is the choice here. I have bought other batteries from Hobby King. Great batteries! But as stated, 3 weeks & shipping is a problem.

Seems most batteries come with a variety of discharge connectors. Soldering is a pain for Deans. Does anyone know if anyone makes an adaptor kit for connections to all the connectors on the market?

Anyone?

When I had my falcon, I always ran 2 cell. However they will not have the punch of the 3 cell. Simply because you go from 7.4v to 11.1v. Do you have the fuse mod installed? Very important if you're running 11.1v.
I don't know of any adapters on the market. So just solder the deans. Just make sure you do it one wire @ a time to decrease the chance of shorting batt wires.

Going to nitro! Have 2 Falcons for sale. One never spooled up, the other has a tooth missing in the main gear. Many spare parts. The 2nd could be used for parts. $100 for both. You pay shipping. Will send in original box.

Interested? Go to [email protected].

My son just bought a Falcon 40 (with his own money). He's just learning to fly it but a problem has developed that I'm trying to help him with. For the first couple of days it was OK but now It seems that the controls have reversed! Right stick up > it goes BACKWARD. Right stick down > it goes forward! Worst of all the throttle is reversed...Left stick all the way up turns the throttle off and vice versa!

I'm suspecting that somehow he messed with the dip switches on the back of the transmitter.

Assuming we solve this issue, I was wondering if there is some way to dial down the controls to make it more "beginner friendly"? Any help would be appreciated.

hi BHubbard; you can always adjust where the linkage rods connect to the servo horns. The closer it is to the center, the more movement it takes to tilt the swashplate

Thanks Maxmax77. The linkage rods were connected at the farthest holes out on the servo horns. I moved them half way and it is definitely less sensitive.

I also figured out the problem with the controls being reversed. I reset the dip switches by trial and error until the controls were correct again (don't know how they got messed up!)

To add to what Max suggested, you can also add more weight to the ends of the flybar.

Are you using [link=http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html]Radd's School[/link] of Rotary flight to learn how to hover? I highly recommend it.

Also, in these many pages of Falcon 40 knowledge is dip switch functions and default settings. You have written them down now, right?

Has anyone used the Xheli.com Honey Bee main blades Item# EK1-0202 ontheirFalcon 40? They are $2 cheaper, than the main replacement for the falcon.... For some reason these exceed blades are splitting on me..

Thanks

mack; the honey bee (fp) blades work fine with the falcon-I personally think they;re better!

Nate; there are two little allen screws that hold the flybar on; unscrew those with an allen wrench and it'll slide right out! Also, you should expect to get about $50-ish for all that.

Okay, I had a V1 falcon but went ahead and got the V2 falcon. But I'm confused on the main rotor blades attach to the drive shaft. My old one you could just pop it off, being careful and not losing the bearings. Well I split a main blade so I ordered a new set but when I sit down to install them I noticed that the pins that held the blade were sheared off. So when they redesigned the V2 falcon did they change the rotor setup. I been looking at the parts, trying to decide what to order.

Thanks
