how to setup micro heli without 3in1?
Hi,
I want to get the Micron V2.
as I read in several posts, you can get more out of the setup, if you do it on you own.
for the micron you can get a 3in1 box with Gyro/Mixer/ESC
I want to go e.g. for a separate HH Gyro. and don't rely on these fixed mixers.
Is my understanding correct that I need the following electronics then?
- Receiver (4ch)
- Gyro
- ESC for rear motor
- ESC for main motor

the micron is so small, that is probably going to be too much weight. But just to make sure, add up ALL the weight of the electronics and the helicopter, and see if it is within the specified flight weight.

I don't think so.
I ordered the blank heli plus all parts separate. if my counting is correct, i should at least come out with the same weight.
I will post it when it arrives...

Your parts list looks good.
What HH gyro did you go with? I used a Futaba GY240 in my FP Piccolo. It behaves SO well, but it is a brick. Heavy.
I also used a HLG200 HH gyro, but when we went to higher battery voltage (3s lipo) we got tail wag that we could not make go away. That might be different, depending on a lot of factors, including model, motor, blades, ESC and such.
With the heavy GY240, and a brushless motor, things were good. Decent power, and a very well behaved tail.

don't know about the quality but without housing you can get it down to ~2g
