would you recommend a HONEY BEE KING?
I am seriously thinking of buying the Honey Bee King, do you think I am wise or silly? I have heard of the motor being underpowered and overheating but if that is so why would E-Sky release the KING 2 with the same motor?

I forgot to tell you that I got mine from Hobby-Lobby.
They answer the phones and support is just fantastic.
I saw them fly and for $249.00 you can't go wrong.
Look at this one. http://www.xheli.com/wadr60sped7c.html
I was going to buy it because of all the free upgrades but they have no contact number and never responded to any of my 3 E mails.
But the HONEY BEE KING flies just as good.
Hobby Lobby actually returned 2 of my phone calls.

RE: would you recommend a HONEY BEE KING?
I bought the King and the Cool. The first thing I did before even trying to fly was to replace the stock motor with a brushless JGF 400 DB and DH. The stock motor runs way too hot according to several folks and since I knew I wanted more than gentle hovering, a brushless setup was the way to go. Six months ago I would have recommended the King/Cool. Now, after seeing the way Esky goes through unannounced revisions to the kit, I would have to say "maybe" you should buy one. The heli FLIES great, but the parts situation is not the greatest and who knows how long this airframe will be supported? The Cool was killed off, the King morphed into a belt-drive tail, and the King/Cool never will have the support that the Trex or Blade CP has. But the guys that have Kings really, really like them! I also am not sold on the new tail, I prefer the shaft tail over the newer belt- it just looks awfully thin to work well in that tiny boom! After flying mine for a while, I really like the size and flight qualities of the Cool over the King, but they aren't hardcore 3D machine, more like good all-around flyers for small fields. they're too big for the livingroom, and too small outside for more than 15 mph of wind but in between there they do very well.

RE: would you recommend a HONEY BEE KING?
Hello all
I just purchased a honey bee king 2 tonight for $100. It was RTF and from what I have observed at different hobby dealers it sounded like a good price. But I am new to RC Helicopter, never flown them but couldn't really turn down this price.

My friend has 2 of them and 1 Falcon.
They fly well but get a lot of practice.
That was a super price.
I'm here now installing the aluminum upgrades while i'm waiting for my ESC to come in.
It was mailed out today
Both the Falcon and the Honey Bee K can take a lot of abuse but it never hurts to have spare parts so grab then while you can.
Gary says you can make a tail boom from an aluminum arrow shaft.
The HBK is easy to work on but when you start removing things don't try to remember.
Have a pad and pen and write it down
Also snap some pictures so you can view how thing go back
Get good quality small straight Phillips and allen wrenches so you don't mess things up if you need to work on it.
It's pretty basic and flies good.
Have fun.
