Default music to listen to while flying?

I'm gettting with the program here and picked up an Ipod, there's more reasons than flying, but anyhow, it would be cool to have some tracks to fly to... what would you guys choose? give me some ideas...

definitely the Top Gun Anthem has to be on there, Steve Stevens absolutely rocks this track!

what else guys?

I guess it depends on what ya like..

The days I fly hard i don't listen to music because i do better timing things when i can hear the heli/blades.. but when i do, i use my razor cell phones hands free ear piece and blast the one side of my brain with these in a random play loop:

Rush - Free Will, Fly By Night, Tom Sawyer, Drum Solo, Limelight, Red Barchetta
Aerosmith - Livin' On The Edge
Guns 'n' Roses -Welcome To The Jungle
Molly Hatchett - Flirtin' With Disaster
AC DC - The Razor's Edge, Thunderstruck, Big Balls, For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)

It works well man.. inverted heli about a foot off the ground, moto bluetooth with AC/DC in one ear and rotor blades singing in the other ear! Doesn't get much better.

xodarap,

good choices, I'll add some of those to the list, except the drum solo, yuk, drives me crazy...

oh yeah, some things off the 5150 alblum, Dreams, Summer Nights, etc..... now that I thought of this, it's going to get more VH... some Fair Warning and Women and CHildren first stuff also....

I've also got some Def Leppard and Journey (the more rockin' stuff, not love songs to fly by ) ready to load....

ginnz - Billy Thorpe, great idea, thanks!!! killer song...

I've got Vodoo Chile (Hendrix version) loaded up also.... also some other stuff - Sweet Angel, Fire, Like a Rolling Stone

I ended up with a bunch of slammin' stuff in my flying directory...

Mr. Scary, Kiss of Death - Dokken
Top Gun Anthem - Steve Stevens
some Extreme, Mr. Big, Racer X, Vixen
a bunch of AC/DC (Put the finger on you, Sink the Pink)
some old Motley Crue (starry eyes, piece of your action, take me to the top)
Gary Hoey, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani...

somehow a bunch of instrumental stuff, it's just what appealed to me and I thought I'd dig while flying..

I figure I can add/change as my mood changes

Well, If you're into some classical/scale flying, I suppose you could rent an old movie called Apocolypse Now and load up Ride Of The Valkyries (Wagner). If you haven't seen the movie, You'll understand after you watch it

You'd definitely get some comments at the flying field if your heli was blaring some AC/DC or Alice in Chains tracks . Loud gear noise from your drive system might diminish the listening experience though. ..

I think it depends on what type of flying you are going to be into. For a little hover training maybe some Allman Bros Band, or maybe The Band - cripple creek, the weight, etc..., Bella Fleck's good too.

For some more exciting FFF and/or 3D maybe some Flogging Molly, Sublime, or GNR.
