my ying and yang.. took the poisedon out for its maiden flight this morning. it flew perfect straight from build to setup. no head wobble. no vibration. no wag. rock solid tail . blades tracking perfectly without even touching the adjustments. only thing thats left to do is mess with the pitch and throttle curves then dial in more swash. i'm so stoked. going to the hobby store and pick up a 4-cell lipo and will test to see how she responds to more juice.

my oh my. [X(]. i went to my lhs and picked up a thunderpower extreme v2 2200mah 25c 4S lipo. now this is one expensive lipo. i swapped the pinion from 13t to a 10t for the 4-cell setup. getting 3000 rpm. but its got alot more punch and a whole lota kick. extremely pleased with the results. i placed the lipo as far back as i can without touching the motor for CG. i'm going to have to get more of these 4-cells. thunderpower kicks serious ass but dang thing is so expensive.

so current setup for the Poisedon CF Pro kit:

JustGoFly 500TH 3380Kv w 10T
Hobbywing 40a esc opto
CC 10a Bec
Thunderpower 2200mah 25c 4-cell
hs65hb cyclic
gy401 w 9650 for tail
ar6100e
dx6i

upgrades:
carbon tail boom.

you're doing well HT. keep up the nice flying. I had a major crash with my Poseidon last week.. broke the upper frame, ccpm tray, landing base, blades, feathering shift, main gear. the sad part was that i was doing all kinds of crazy things with it and it flew awesome. then when i'm about to bring her in for a landing she rolls on one side. naturally i tried to correct but it made it worst. one of those optical illusion when i think it rolls one way but its actually the other. or another word PILOT ERROR.[&:] that ends my strike of 103 packs without a crash. she's all fixed up now and she ready to rock and roll. . It cost me 130 bucks to repair her.[:'(]

Looks great Noob!
I finally broke down and ordered all the parts I need for my Mars....I bought a new Scorpion 55amp ESC to go with the Gazaur motor so we will see if that eliminates the over heating problem I had.
I have been flying my TRex as I can...not as much as I would like but enough to keep me happy.

i also run the scorpion 55a esc and the 4400kv lingo motor. great results.. you'll have to run at least a 25C lipo...otherwise your lipo will be hot. i ran the evo flightpower 1800mah 20C lipo with this combo and it got smoking hot after a pack. so bad the first cell swelled for 30 minutes. [X(] for this reason i decided to go with the 4-cell setup. everything runs super cool and lots and lots of power and a lot longer flight time. [sm=thumbup.gif]

I should have no probs in the batteries I think...I have the EVO 25C 2170's to run on it...but we will see. I also bought an Outrage 25C 2200 to play with on this and the TRex 450.

All my parts arrived, heli is all assembled...I have to re-set the pitch again as it is way off with the new metal head parts, plus I have set up the head for 3D so I need to zero out the pitch again at mid stick...should be flying again tomorrow with the Gazaur.[8D]

I broke down today and bought the TRex 500GF with motor and ESC, going to run the Hitec MS 5085 MG's on cyclic, Futaba 401 with the 9257 on the tail, Radix 430 Blades, EVO 25c 2500 6s battey for it, Bantam E-Station BC6 Charger to charge my new size battery.
So now I have to start investing in more batteries....I plan on running dual 3 cells on it as well...but I am sure I am going to want more 6 cells because of the weight...we will see. I am excited and looking forward to getting this baby up and flying.

My lovely wife would have even let me go nitro if I wanted....but I like being able to fly around the back of the house with the electrics, so I am sticking with them for now....maybe someday I will go with a slimer.

Sorry gang for not reporting back about the new Mars parts and the Gazaur motor but I have been building the 500...very busy lately so I have not put much time into the build...but it has been a very easy build and I am almost finished (most likely done and test flying tonight) with it so, I will finish the pitch set up on the Mars tomorrow probably and be able to fly the weekend with all 3.

I have flown the Outrage battery for one of its break in flights and it has awesome power!!!! I am very impressed with it. I will definitely be getting more of them!!!!![8D]

cool. i was thinking about getting the outrage packs so your good review along with many others convinced me that this is a good brand.. gonna pick up both the 4s 2200 and 3s 2200 25c packs.

i flew my poseidon at the park today with 15+mph winds. it was a little difficult but she flew well. i flew for 10 minutes on a single charge! [X(]. and that was in idle up. [8D] and there was still plenty of juice left in the pack. very impressed with the thunderpower 4s packs. after 10 minutes the motor, esc, lipo was barely warm. awesome. flew the mars in the same condition using the 3s setup and the lipo was hot for only 3 minutes. i think the 4s setup is best for this size bird.
