Spektrum Technology Helis around 250 size?
 

A new(ish) member of our club has given up (temporarily) on his Blade 120SR as being too difficult for his level of piloting.

What would you recommend as a simpler more stable Spektrum technology model around the 250/300 size?

He may want to consider an mCX2 however it is not a 250/300 size. The 120sr is pretty stable though, has a simulator been considered? One thing I find with all of the smaller helis is they can seem unstable in the wind and indoor practice is best.

All his flying has been done indoors. I haven't tried flying his 120SR myself but, from observation, it appears extremely unstable. He's asked me to have a look at it so I'll do that as soon as I get the opportunity.

A cheap alternative thats really easy to learn on is the little Ares Nanos fp7, fixed pitch with 6 axis gyro stabilisation, ok so its tiny but that makes it even easier to fly indoors and its really cheap too.

Surrey model centre are knocking them out for £19.95 at present, amazing value for money, I've only ever flown CX before but was flying my one straight out of the box.

It would be a superb little heli at £70 but for £20? you can't go wrong.

My friend is (allegedly) placing his order today.
