Nitroplanes FanTrainer
I've got a pile of winter projects, but I think I'm going to start on this one first:
http://www.nitroplanes.com/81a219y-f...er-yellow.html
The kit calls for a 100mm fan from Nitroplanes, but I have a good WeMoTec 90mm fan from the infamous Bobcat disaster of 2008.
They call for the same spec motor in the Nitro 100mm fan as my WeMo 90mm fan has. So, I'm hoping the slightly smaller WeMo fan has a little more efficient design and can run with the 100mm fan.
The WeMo fan is a little narrower, and the holes in the mounting lugs are right at the edge of the "ears" on the FanTrainer's fuselage. I'll post pictures of it later tonight if I get a chance.
I gotta come up with a different way to mount the WeMo fan to the FanTrainer. Any suggestions?

RE: Nitroplanes FanTrainer
Glue in some basswood on the fuse's "ears", to space them properly. If you need to, cut some foam to mount larger pieces of wood for more secure glue joint. Or, build up fan mounting "recess" in fuse with 1/16 balsa sheeting to get a good fan to fuse fit and glue in fan unit with a few dabs of clear silicone. This would also eliminate the gap between fuse and fan as well. Many ways to skin a cat I guess.
