Modify Dubro balancer for Small Rotors
If you are having trouble balancing those small rotor...this mod does a good job and works for the 5 inchers also....I cut a new set of 3/16" rods to 4"....purchase a screw type balancing unit (one shown is the great planes unit from Tower)measure down from the center of the magnet 2 3/4" and glue a small washer (small hole so point does not go thru) on both sides to hold the oringinal balance rod as a spacer....Make sure the new 3/16" rod fit snug into position..you can wrap with clear tape as needed to fit....with it all together, you want about a 1/32" gap on the magnet with balancer in place...Pictures show a 90 mm fan and a 5"...you do not need the sliders on the original balance shaft...they just get in the way...forgot to take them off for pictures...i have been able to balance all my rotor down to 56 mm using this set up and getting them accurate...if you have any question, will be glad to help...Jim

RE: Modify Dubro balancer for Small Rotors
It is very accurate....the only problem with the shaft and cones that come with it, is the cone dont stay tight...you have to make sure they are tight each time you do anything to you prop, etc. before you put it back on the magnet.....
i tried one of the china balancers and had the same problem...tried to rework the cones but not worth the effort...
