Default wattage S 3 viking issues

Wired up the New motors and didnt have enough power to roll accross the floor? Heres what I have. 2 erc 400BL 1200kv highperformance motors. Two excede rc proton 30A esc and running off a 3s 11.1v 2100mah battery. The esc are tied together with a y lead and plugged into the reciever throttle. The battery power is spliced to have a red and black to both ESC? Any help would be great alot of time invested and realy want this one to fly.

Hi bobbyz12

I am curious, where did you get a Wattage S-3 Viking? I looked at the Wattage/Global site and they dont even list it... I wouldn't mind having this model myself. So do you have any specs of this model or pictures please?

1200kv motors seems kinda low to me, especially on 3s. Nominally, that is around 13.3K fan rpm ... I have glow engines that turn more rpm. heh.

OK the Wattage S 3 is done.I put two AEO edf 55 motors on this plane. Two 30 amp ESC's running off one 11.1 2200mAh battery. Has the usual alerons, elevator, and stearable nose gear. Added flaps on the gear switch.
The planes specs are as follows.

wing span :38 inches
wing area : 230 square inches
overall length: 31 inches
weight: 37-38 ounces
wing loading: 23-24 oz/sq.in

Don't know when I will get to fly her. Hopefully this weekend.
enjoy the pics

I have one of these.....one thing you might want to change is the aileron torque rods..they are to flemsey...also my ailerons would not stay straight and the mount of the torque rod was not good..i went up to .042 wire and put balsa ailerons on...I use the brushed motor for the tower duct fan and put GWS rotor on it...motor are wired in parallel and power by a 55 amp Electrifly ESC....pulles about 20 amps..on 3s....penty of power..i use 3/4 throttle for take off...first flight takeoff at full throttle got me a chandel into the ground...this was before changing ailerons..not sure if was them or torque..also added 3 inch on each wing. Also put a brass tube over the steering push rod..its to flemsey too......enjoy..

I used all different hardware when I built mine. hinges on all flaps and ailerons. reinforced the wing in two places with carbon tube. I also coated the whole thing with elmers glue and let it dry before it was painted. Gives the foam a little more strength and fills in some of the "dings". Not sure if i am wired correctly. The plane seems to not have as much power when the esc are wired to one battery. I wish some one had a drawing how to hook two ESC to one battery. I have seen people tell me to disconect a red wire from the ESC but dont know if they mean a servo wire or ???? Good flying weather today in Soutern Louisiania so I will give it a try.

My son and I put retracts in ours. Looks like a jet instead of a toy.

The battery wires on the 2 esc's are connected red to red and black to black..for parallel. if they are deans connectors you can buy one premade.....on the servo connector use a y harness to connect both esc's ...remove one red wire from one of the esc's.this allow only one of the bec 's to power the rec/servos..otherwise they may work again each other...on the connector litley lift the plastic tab with and exato knife and pull the wire out....

The motors you have are way to low of a Kv for a D/F unit. You would need motors with 3500 to 5100 Kv to have the power for her to fly good. Here is a link to my Wattage Viking with a high power set up.

Keep em flying
