70mm CS 12 with Cyclone 2500
Just posting some results:
The ChangeSun 70mm 12 blade fan unit with a Cyclone outrunner CS480-2500-32EDF 2500kv 1400 watt motor.
I set the Turnigy dLux 100 amp ESC to high timing. 5 cell 3850 mah 65-135C Turnigy NanoTech pack.
The unit develops 1617 watts and pulls 2 kilos or 4.38 pounds.
In addition, I've run this fan and esc on a 6 cell pack at 80% thottle up to 1800 watts for 5.16 pounds or 2.32 kilos.
The 12 blade fan needs a Dr. Mad Thrust 2200 kv motor, or HET 2W30 for the best 6 cell setup.
Mark at ExtremeRC in Australia has a alloy version with the HET 2W30 for 187.00 USD.
The HobbyKing Dr. Mad Thrust is around 35 dollars and the fan unit from RC Castle is 20. All plastic..not alloy shroud.
Extreme balances and assembles the HET CS 12 and gets everything squared away for 6 cell for a very reasonable price.
Some models for this little powerplant are in mind....since I'm building 2 units...any twin 70 projects?
Weight of the Cyclone and CS12 with alloy spinner is: .240 kilo or 8.5 ounces, the Extreme Alloy unit with HET inrunner is .225 kilograms, the cyclone outrunner being heavier than the HET inrunner
