Default where to get cool

building a Jet Tung Bae hawk 90 mm I am using a hv2 ice 120 esc and was wondering where to install to get the cooling I need I was thinking of installing it in the bottom of the intake duck just before the fan but was thinking it may not work there because interference with air flow. Any help and pictures would be helpfull

Default RE: where to get cool

I try very hard to no have anything in the airflow in front of the fan... you want that clean air for the fan

Behind the fan is a different story... you could mount it in the thrust tube...or make a mount behind the motor

I have a jet legend hawk... I mounted my ICE 160 on top of my duct in front of the fan... being that it's a hawk I cut out the two scoops on top of the fuse just behind the cockpit and the aux doors on the top hatch. This puts nice airflow over the ESC....like a naca duct

pretty sure you can do the same... also I glued to wood rails 1/4x1/4 to the duct and raised the esc up on those so air can flow all around it....
stay pretty cool

hope that helps.... we aren't to far away from each other I'm in Brentwood

Later
Ron
