Default help

This is out of the ordinary, I know, but I'm stuck on where to go next for some info...

I have a project I'm working on that is not aircraft related except I want to use a ducted fan out of an electric jet or something.

I have discovered that I can't buy jus the fan/motor

so the choices are…..

brushed or brushless

then the choices are how many rpms which is dependent upon the number and capacity of lipo battery packs

then there is something called an esc….

The project is going to blow air across an aluminum device, thru fins, with the hope of pulling some of the heat out of the fins.

I can fabricate any sort of shroud or airflow director

size is something of a limitation….I'd really like to find a fan in the 1 inch or 26 mm size...

So what fan?

What motor that will push the highest amount of air at what voltage?

What esc?

I plan on running the fan at a constant velocity. Is there some way to control the esc other than with a radio?

Does anyone have a schematic for an esc?

Thanks for any help you can offer...

I've run thru the gauntlet of customer service reps….I need some real world advice.

thanks,

rb

Go to your local hobby shop and buy a micro MiG 15 for 80 bucks and steal all the components you need from it. The fan is 28mm
