What's the best EDF in this list?
Greetings Fellow EDF'ers -
I've been focused on getting a new EDF in the 90mm range and I've seen a few that are really tantalizing. I've already got a Stinger 90 so I'll put that at the top of the list:
1. Stinger 90
2. Freewing Avanti S 80 mm EDF Ultimate Sport Jet
3. Taft Hobby Viper 90mm RC EDF Jet ARF
4. HSD Super Viper 105mm T1000 RC EDF Jet ARF (this is 12S)
5. HSD Viper Pro 90mm V2 RC EDF Jet ARF (the V2 has ALOT of changes)
So what is your favorite (s) ... and why?
Thanks

Freewing Avanti
I called MotionRC yesterday and asked about the Freewing Avanti. A representative there had great things to say about the Avanti S 80 mm. Look at the leading edge of the wing. Apparently it's designed to prevent tip stalls. Of course he's going to say great things about the plane he's selling, however I saw one of those flying at our airfield and I must say it was a great flyer. Looks fantastic too. I love a yellow airplane. The price is right ... $329.
And there's the HSD Super Viper 105 mm which runs on a 12S battery (all the other jets in the list operate on 6S, which is a plus). The HSD Super Viper has a 59" wingspan and looks great. Compare that jet at $643 to a BVM Electra (using 10S or 12S) with a 60" wingspan but costing $5,000+ !!!!
I'm starting to like foam and all the money it can save me.

These are not on your list but the FMS Super Scorpion is a very nice flyer. Their Yak and Futura EDF's are as well
Not only do they fly well but the look/finish and sound is way better than foam EDF's of the past..

Super Scorpion
Flies well and sounds great. Something to consider ... thanks for sharing. Uh-oh .... that Futura looks like a jet I'd like to have. Only $329.

You really need to have a look at the New FlexJet from flex Innovations, blows the others away.

Looks incredibly slow for a 90mm edf, it's like a shock foamie edf lol... Not knocking it but clearly built for a different type of flying other than speed which many into edf actually crave.

I have, it Def looks slow lol. Not knocking the plane it's just not built for speed in stock form even the producer of this jet admits this, again not knocking the jet as it does what it was designed for really well by the videos.

Out of those kits the Avanti 80mm and the HSD 105mm viper would be my pics, I have seen them all fly, flown most of them myself. The big Viper is an awesome base for a large model without the huge costs of composite. Powering it is simple, most guys flying 90mm 6s jets have plenty of 5000mah 6s packs, put two together and you are good to go!
All it needs is some simple intake mods and a decent fan like our Jetfan 110PRO setup and you have something that will take off in 50ft and hammer along yet land like a trainer.
