S-3 Viking Plans
Does anyone have plans for an S-3 Viking? I realize that EAM makes one, but I've heard repeatedly that it doesn't fly or is underpowered.
I have seen that Wattage is going to release one in '04 but I think it's more fun building a Foam or Balsa Model from scratch.
http://www.flyingfoam.com/launch.html will make me any wing in any foil I want, so all I really need is some scale fuselage plans to complete the package.

The French magazine Modèle Réduit d'Avion has a free plan for an S3b in its issue 771 Mars 2004.

It's for GWS EDF 50 and in Depron foam, so of course only stand off scale. Pretty though, and instantly recognisable. Reputed to be a good flyer too. It inspired me to see how it could be improved.
I did a scale check and looked for real 3-views and photos. There are plenty on the web.
Try http://www.history.navy.mil/planes/s3.htm and http://www.military.cz for a start. You'd have to get enlarging and designing though.
bonne chance

Here ya go, complete with cross-sections.

There's a second picture in there as well. Both near the bottom of this page (thumbnails).
Pics are very large. Below the larger picture on the right click on "Original" for full size.
Have fun! I'm considering making one out of Depron, after my C-5 Galaxy is finished.

Rich Uravitch has plans coming very soon for and EDF or prop version os the Viking. I talked to Hobby Hangar a few weeks ago and they told me very soon. Here is a video of the EDF version. Very cool.
EDF http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/S-3-wmv
You can see some info on it on his site @ www.richuravitch.com or www.hobbyhangar.com
I would like to have one as well. Hobby Hangar is going to sell the plans parts and wood kits as well the Viking has a 60' wing span go to product spec's on the Rich's site to see the spec's for the Viking. Pic Below
