RE: Jepe dolly/bungee launcher HELP
The hook can be a piece of 3/32" or 1/8" music wire with the hole drilled such that the wire angles back 30 degrees or so.
The foot release can be built from two pieces of 1/4" ply, a 1*2" block, mushroom headed 1/4*20 bolt and one other smooth shanked bolt with the head cut off.

The 2 pieces of ply are joined at the back, the bolt and pin are secured to the bottom piece and pass through holes in the top piece. The ring from the dolly / bungee goes over the pin, stepping on the mushroom headed bolt flexes the bottom ply piece until the pin clears the top plate and the ring releases. At the back where the ply plates are joined you drill a 1/2" hole for a peg to secure it to the ground. The whole thing is about 4" wide and a foot long.

Yes, it was a diagram. Various ypes of releases:

The last pic in the last link shows the simple wood mechanism I am referring to. Part of it at least.

c-grain
Your comment makes me immensely proud so I'm going to reward you with pics of the peripheric equipment (of which I am also extremely proud :
See how happy I am with myself looking at the contraption
Proof it works
And the best thing is that those tubes are not even glued together (O rings inside). Outer tubes in grey also PVC, for rigidity and riding over the junction steps, just slid over white ones. Quite flexible for transportation and adjustments (pedal tip goes over transverse tube)
