The wing is not thick enough to handle the job with retracts installed. Not to mention the weight build up that would be there. Keep in mind it is a simple rather large electric ducted fan jet that flies great and is a bunch of fun at the flying field with minimum build time.

It is a very nice looking model, however it is going to take about 5 bills to get it airbourne, will the price of these electronic parts ever go down? when you have to buy everything in two's it gets rather expensive, i'm sure that a lot of people would like to fly the superliner, me included!! but at that price it is going to be touigh to do, just my 2 cents worth...R/C FLYR

A question regarding the motors = EFLM1320DF or EFLM1320DF2. Are these similar to the MEGA 1/6/15/xx?
Also, what is the wing area?
Whoops...
Never mind on the wing area...

RE: E-Flite Super Airliner
I saw one today at my LHS, the plane itself wasn't that expensive, great if you already have some of the gear. It also comes in a monster box that was larger than my trunk, probably just barely back seat sized, in a word: big. It is a real heartbreaker though because I can't buy one since I have no place to fly it. You simply have to use a paved strip and our field is grass. Grass would rip the gear off this one and belly landings are out with the engines being where they are. It would have been nice if they came out with a similarly built high wing instead, or in addition to this one. A nice C5 with 4 speed 400 sized fans would be nice.

RE: E-Flite Super Airliner
A good friend called the other day and asked if I wanted to knock-out a plane quick for him. As always i try to do my "Home-work" here on RCU. I'm I really the first to do build pic's on this cool looking plane? A subject search turned up no other results. Any one have any flight reports? This one is being built with all the recommended E-flight parts.

RE: E-Flite Super Airliner
I have never owned an electric plane. I have been flying RC for 20 years and that includes most everything. MY LHS had one of these yesterday that someone ordered and did not want when it came in, so I took it. It looks great and I am hoping it turns out as nice as it looks. I had been eyeing an electric airliner for some time and this one is about the right size. Wish me luck. I also got the recommended motors for it as well, all at a great price.
Can't wait to hear you guy's experience.
