You better narrow your description of the "worlds fastest rc plane". You're going to get everything from gliders to turbine jets to people carrying their airplanes on an airliner. Are you really looking for powered airplane and if so are you looking for the fastest electric jet since you posted here?

Gliders are actually the fastest RC. Turbines would be much faster, but they have a speed limit to them. You can't go faster than a certain speed, which stinks.
The gliders are Dynamic Sloap soarers I think...they fly in 90+ mph winds and go around and around making a slingshot action. Easily reach 200 mph.
I'm not sure what the turbine speed limit is, I think it's either 150 or 250mph. The fastest glider was like 310mph.

Fastest rc aircraft is a dynamic soarer glider. Believe it. Their expensive around $650 To 900 just for the kit. Fastest one recorded at 360 mph in 2006. Faster than any rc Turbine Jet, Scale, Gas, etc

90+ mph winds.......
Sorry, As a keen sailor with 18yrs experience I find that hard to believe. That is cyclone/hurricane strength winds, heck commercial shipping can founder in that wind strength. Just standing upright in those windspeeds is a real challange, near immpossible without bracing. Compund the wind strength with the fact that is would be gusty and swinging a few degrees with each gust and surely you couldn't fly in those winds.
just my 2 cents

The wind going up the slopes and getting funneled between hills can attain speeds much higher than the average windspeed.

Dynamic soaring is done on the backside (leeward?) of a slope hill. The airplanes take advantage of the rotor on the backside, they dive through the shear layer and get pushed by the air coming back up the hill, then back up through the sheer layer in a climbing turn, the air coming over the slope pushes then and the arc over and dive back through the sheer layer. They're in a consant turn and basically are getting pushed with a tailwind. They build up energy and can end up flying much faster than the wind speed. I've seen on here probably doing 80 mph in about a 10 mph breeze over a wind break at Lake Mead. 300 mph is just insane!

I was at Parker Mountain, Califorina when a carbon fiber Dynamic soaring plane did 301 mph. That was earlier this year.

I am sure it would be a sight to behold ... 300 mph without any engine/motor/turbine!

I dunno... all I dare to do with that setting and at that speed would be level flight; certainly not pointing anywhere toward the ground! When you come around HK don't forget to visit us. Bringing your planes too?

This morning I was at the (outlaw) flying field. and there was a new crowd of people. There was a man who had a e-ducted fan Jet, a 4-stroke 540 and a couple of e-cap 232's then a man with a glider. It never dawned on me at the speed of a glider especially when pulling out of a thermal, until I saw it flying next to the jet and aerobatic planes. So needless to say when I saw the title of this thread, My curisoity was peaked. Flying fast is really the way I like to fly the most, but with the ability to glide through the sky. After the review of the Dynamic Soarer hitting 301 MPH - That truly rocks! Hearing the swoop from it ripping through the sky was great! Thanks for the info, this hobby never ceases to amaze me. Great Sky's always invite Great Flying! Laterz

375 mph 15 min in
Check out this video you can see the pulse jets are so slow.
There is a Inferno at the end of the video at about 15 minutes in.
~375MPH on a 11kg motor.

PS. gliders don't count.
