the strykers flying great, i think its doing around 40mph right now, the "jetscreamer" should push 70-80mph on the 1500mah 3S packs Im using, and I'll keep my 15 minute flights...on a 4S it should approach 100mph, not sure yet though till I see it in action, that motor better be worth the money or I'll be pissed...I saw alot of those BL fans on ebay from overseas, but they all seem to draw alot of power, and I really want to keep my light weight setup for the glider like landing and its ability to recover quickly when it stalls...

I have a question again. I got my extreme edf setup and it says to set the esc timing to low, do I need to do that with this thunderbird 54 that I have coming in the mail? Anyone have a clue?

Vertical: I hope you get you monies worth and also can reach 100mph. that would be some fast foam!

well I wont be flying 4S anytime soon so I think 70-80mph will be good enough...the thunderbirds intructions will tell you if you can set the timing or not, and if so it will say how to do it, the silver series I know you cant change it, but my bl-8 you can, never really noticed a big difference in power though from messing with it

Does the stock esc have low voltage cut off?

I believe it does since it has a stock li-po, you'll notice the slow down cause it will be hard to keep in the air

ordered an esc or a diablo, if you got the plane, do the pod on top mod(remember to remove the thrust deflector too...other then that just make sure you let it have speed before turning or climbing..

Thanks for the info vertical and sparky, my elevator is working fine and i am not throwing it to steep so i checked the center of gravity and it is nose heavy. When i first flew it the cg was fine does that make sense that it is off now and how can i fix it?thanks

if you havent added anything (glue, tape, etc.) and the battery/electronics havent moved then I dunno how the CG changed, Id measure out the spec in the manual and balance it there, I balanced mine(both wing styles) where the larg carbon joiner tube is in the wing which seemed to work good as a starting point...

I did it! I got all my stuff in the mail and soldered it all together, and flew with the wicked extreme in the XF edf. All I can say is WOW! at one point I was flying towards me and thought, man that things coming at me quick, but by the time I had thought the word quick it was past me!

Flying time is around 10 to 15 min Im not sure but when I landed the battery was pretty warm, not hot but pretty warm.
The motor and esc were cooler than I thought they would be, considerably so.

I dont know actual speed, no radar gun here, but its nice and quick. Im satisfied for now.

I want to thank you guys that gave your two cents worth, it helped alot.

good to hear it worked out, I was looking at specs and the wicked extreme said itd spin the XF at 45,000, the "LS" I have should do 46,000 if I get it working, had to order a new ESC so I got the pentium 30amp from dons rc, I guess the "LS" is finicky about the timing, I did get two flights at half throttle and it matched my ammo at full throttle so i cant wait for that new esc to get the stryker back in the air...any pics of you setup animal?

Let me get my camara and try to download it, I only did once before so it might take a few practice tries to get them on here. I read some specs on the wicked extreme that said it spun the xf fan at 51k. Did I look at it wrong or what?

woops i had the regular wicked motor page up, not the extreme, your right on the 51,000, draws 30amps it says, on a 4S it would be insane but at 41amps youd need some seriouse stuff backing it up...

thats weird that the pics arnt working, I got the new controller for my jetscreamer, motor runs very good on the small packs im using(diablo stockers) well enough that when I got home i cut about 3 inches off the wingtips to go faster, and roll faster...it was faster, not amazingly faster in level flight but in the dives and it also climbed way quicker now, I can climb from 5 to 250 feet in one pass down the field, at around a 45 degree angle without loosing alot of speed...works really well now, so hopefully the clipped winged stryker will be a little quicker

Are talking about the diablo wingtips? 3 inches, off the stock wings or the advanced wings?
I cut the tips off my stock wings and it helped alot.
And by the way, do you know how to judge the speed of something with out the use of a radar gun?
I sure would like to know how fast I got this thing going.

3 inches of my strkyers wings...although I had about 1 inch of the advanced diablo wings, and the basic wings were down to the width of the printed ailerons which I had made functional...

How did it fly with the one inch off the advanced wings, and I had a question about your exhaust mod that you did on the diablo, when you put that part of a cup on the back did it help to get higher top end speed?

I took the bottom rear section of another hyperflow diablo edf section and cut it to fit within the one Im using creating a pac man looking exhaust if you can get what Im describing. The opening is reduced by about an eighth of an inch but the speed is noticably faster. I am well pleased with the results.

Diablo? I thought devils had wings. Apparently not. Thankfully, and mercifully, I have destroyed my Diablo. Numerous attempts at flight, finally killing it off a form of exorcism by physically smashing it with two hands into the ground and removing all evidence from my sight of this bad-karma piece of flying do-do and its associated accessories. Tower Hobbies should be ashamed of the junk they sell this Thalidomide Jet Trainer, the destroyer of cash. The good news is that there are so many great planes out there to that we are fortunate to fly.

No comparison! If you have any flight experience I would go with the Trojan. In my arsenal of airplanes the Trojan is close to the top of my list. If you have no flight experience I wouldn't try the Trojan without help. For a trainer I would recomend the Super Cub. My son started with the SC and with no actual experience other than a few hours on a Sim he took off flew and landed with no assistance from me other than a few words of wisdom.

I agree with sparky, dont ever even look at the diablo. It is named the "Devil" for a reason, at first it looks tempting but once you have it or should I say it has you the pain and agony will be long and difficult. You know like a woman.
