Default HET RC ME 262 EDF

Do you guys have any expeirience with the HET RC Me 262 ARF EDF jet? I haven't seen any posts for this model nor have I seen this ARF in the research airplanes section. Anyway, I bought one and wanted to know the do's and dont's when assembling this model or what to look out for when setting it up for the first flight. Also, any recommendation on special RC equipment to use on EDF jets versus regular EP airplanes. This looks straight forward to assemble, but no rudder makes me believe that a steerable nose wheel couldn't hurt for ground control while taxing. Since there are so few Me 262 EDF kits that aren't foamies or real large kits, I thought that this would make a great flying jet. The specs call out for twin 70mm fan units and suitable EP motors and batteries for power. Of course, everyone has there own opinion and some are based on real EDF experience. I feel the price for this size of a twin jet is a good value and the overall quality is good also. There was also a camo version, but they have stopped producing it and the all grey version is the only one available. Thanks for any reply, Kurt.

Hi Zlin,

How went your build?  was straight forward?  the overall quality is good?

I am planning to buy one of these kits this month.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this subject.

The build would be great if I could get to this project. I'm trying to finish a larger size EDF jet, but working full time doesn't leave me much building time. Right now the Me 262 is still in the box.

The wings are fiberglassed or shrink film covered?

The wings are covered with heat shrink covering. They couldeasily be glassed with a little extra work.

Thanks.  I am thinking to convert one of these in two seater nightfighter.

zlin50ls....I asked that same question awhile ago and was directed to warbirds-rc.com they had a great build on it there, even put retracts and gear doors on it. So check it out over there, it was very good...go to the Research Center, that's where it'll be. I got a GWS foam 262 at flies just fine.
