Sapac T-45 foam power upgrade needed
I've flown my T-45 foam Goshawk about 15 times now and like it.
It's my first EDF, but I can tell I'm ready to go faster already.
Without buying a new plane, what upgrade can I do to get more speed?
Should I just put on a bigger motor, or put in a whole new EDF unit?
Has anybody out there upgraded one of these foam T-45s??
Thanks!

RE: Sapac T-45 foam power upgrade needed
I've got the same plane, and the same problem. Iplan on stepping up to a 4S lipo to see if that helps. But, in order to do that I'll have to put in a larger ESC (40A) and a BEC. The BEC is because pretty much anything above 3S requires an external BEC. I'll probably have to remove a little foam to get the lipo to fit. If the plane is flying well know, note where the CG is, so if you do go bigger lipo you can keep the CG the same.

Depending on the ESC you choose, you may not need a BEC.
It's only running the motor and 2 servos.
Ithought about trying a 4-cell, but we would have to add weight in the tail to balance the heavier battery.
Plus, I'm not sure if a 4 cell will fit in that plastic battery cage.
I may just fly this plane as-is, then maybe later get the fiberglass T-45 and trick it out.
