I have a Sapac L-39.  Haven't finished it yet, but seen it fly many times at this years Florida Jet show.  It was holding it's own with all the turbines, & doing very nice field long slow rolls.  Had to buy it !!!

Is it correct to assume yours is the composite version?

Thanks

Yes it is.  The L39 & T45 I saw fly at FJ09 were composite also.  Very nice

Good luck with the L 39! I have their Gripen, Euro Fighter and the F 22......Love the Gripen and the Euro is almost ready to maiden (gotta paint it in Swiss colors so I can see it better!) Grey is not good for 68 year old eyes!!! SAPAC is a good outfit...good support and nice folks. Gotta have to have that L 39....maybe Christmas

EasyTiger has a nice electric L39 and I ordered one.  Anyone get theirs yet?  Lets start a build on this one and pics and videos.  This is a nice size jet from the specs and should be a winner.  Price is right and will post some info when I get mine.  Ive been looking for one this size and weight for electric a long time.  All the others out there are too large for electric without breaking the bank.  I have some nice electric LADOs to fit this jet so will be an interesting project.  Lets here from everyone.

Here is my second Sapac L-39. I had the Brietling version and really wanted the Navy version. Maiden was Wednesday and it flies great. Mine has Sapac retracts which work great. I just cut the fixed gear wires to length and inserted them into the retracts...saved bending all the wires supplied with the retracts. The landing lights are DimensionEngineering lights. They are $9.99 for two and come with a 2 foot long cable attached with a Futaba plug installled.

Those retracts look very similar to the Sapac retracts. The dimensions are questionable because they indicate that they are wider than they are long. That can't be correct.

K&A has EXCELLENT planes, and they are made in the USA!
I have their F-100 to build this winter, and the quality is amazing.

My Sapac retracts are 2.25" long and 7/8" wide. They fit perfectly in the Sapac L-39 and I would guess the same for the T-45.

Koolaide-

The mounts are plywood and already in place in the wing and they are about 2.75" long and 1.25" wide. Hope this answers your question.

Have attached a few photos of my new Sapac L39 Fiberglass EDF. The plane is beautiful if I must say so, and the kit came in excellent shape. No mistakes in the kit, went together smoothly. Will use 4S Extreme 35C lipos. I have a
second L39 fiberglass in Blue and yellow, which I have not yet built. Looking forward to flying this lovely craft. LNL

LNL,

I'm considering getting this plane. I've see it fly and at initial investigation like it better then the K&A version. I'm think of doing a couple of mods to the design and can't find any detail info on the web. I'm think of using a differnt retract system but with the "Scale struts" sapac has as an option. Can you tell me, approx how thick is the wing is at the gear installtion location and in the center if the wing ? Do you have any info on the weight of the sapac retract system? Did you do the rudder mod ?? Reading the manual it seems the rudder mod could be a bit of a pain and once installed if you had a servo failure you would be SOL. The L-39 I saw doing slow roll passes had the rudder mod. I didn't get a chance to talk to the pilot so I don't know if he was using the rudder to do this. this is my first EDF jet and I know many don't use rudders so I'm looking for a pilot that has some time on this model. Have you had a chance to fly yours yet ?

thanks

Joel
