Default Soldering Iron

What is the best and cheap :-) soldering iron? how much Watt?
Also, did anyone heard of the wire glue.
It says to be made of carboon, and acts as a glue and as a conductive.

Love to hear comments.

Thanks

Dvir

depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to solder 22ga wire to a board pick up a 30 watter at radio shack. If you want to solder 8mm connectors onto 8ga wire you need 100 watts or more. The finer the work, the lower the wattage and the finere the tip. Radio shack has a dual 15/40 watt iron wtih stand that is resonable and does most of the finer work I need well enough.
One note, do not use a soldering gun on a sero or a circuit board; they work by inductance and can damage them. They are great for landing gear though.

Just like anything in life you'll need two soldering irons. A small one for light work and trimming Monokote (great for removing small areas where you'll be glueing or holes to pass linkages through) and a large one for battery and motor connectors.

Small-

Large enough-

Dual wattage-

I also keep a micro torch handy.
